I read articles all the time over at Major Wager about small time guys getting taken down for booking, they usually have a small private website to facilitate the action. Not out of the realm of possibilities to get busted in this environment. People need to think before they act.

I was discussing with another poster in chat last night. I have seen things be moved to private zone in a single heart beat. I think this provides un-needed exposure to not only the individual(s) involved but SBR as well. I think that I can speak for quite a few others but when people who are annoying get banned it truly is a blessing (Samsncharge etc)

I would love to see SBR take some action here, and for anyone who hates Willie, he does a damn good job cleaning the board up and makes people who don't post so much (by choice and not by choice) want to be more involved in the board...threads like this are a drag.

People really don't think. Be funny if the feds were out here observing and taking notes seeing how dollar figures were so kindly disclosed. Come out on a public forum airing dirty laundry for the world to see. Be funnier if SBR got subpoenas to provide IP addresses of the bookies out here. Maybe the feds use a little leverage on the owners of the site for facilitating this stuff.

I have said it before in a similar context. I have personal experience w/ such matters. There is more than enough corroboration evidence to support an investigatory subpoena. More than enough...

Maybe you missed the part where a certain person was booking bets. In the United States, this is ILLEGAL. Feds won't go after small players betting with offshore books but an actual US citizen taking bets is asking for trouble.

Which is why I prefaced my post with "With a few factors aside"...the first being the ILLEGAL factor. The other factor being that it is a tad bit uncouth that a SBR poster could possibly be soliciting other members of the forum for their own cause.

Why any of you would find it shocking that people are gambling ILLEGALLY, is a little odd, don't you think? Because let's face it, if you live in the United States, gambling online is illegal, is it not?

Booking is very illegal. Being a patron of an offshore site might not even be illegal, the legislation is largely untested. In fact, in the 2nd Circuit (New York state included here) the Court of Appeals (one below the Supreme Court of the US) dismissed a charge against a patron. They declined to even reach the question about whether or not being a patron of the offshore operation was illegal under the UEIGA. So it remains untested.
