Yeah, pretty crazy. He had health problems for years though. I remember reading that he had some type of defibrillator put in his chest a few years back, he claimed that he smoked heavily since he was 11.

Definitely one of last from a dying breed sadly. He was bigger than just music and his play by my own rules , I don't give a fukk what you think is sadly missing today's world. Saw Motorhead only once live great show of course.

Met him as well around '01 or '02 one night at his favorite hangout Rainbow on Sunset. I had a few and got the courage to approach as he was sitting there playing his poker machine by himself. Essentially just said what's up, told him what what influence he was and shook his hand. He thanked me graciously and I let him get back to his game. RIP Lemmy the rock world just lost a big chunk of what little genuine attitude it had left:/
