Weiland's wife claims Scott has been clean for years. Though... he has been drinking more.

Police found drugs on the tour bus.

                          Weiland's wife claims they weren't Scott's.

Rumors claim Weiland was doing Crack Cocaine hardcore for the past 4 days.

                          Wife denies these rumors.

                          Unreal.

Died from cardiac arrest at 48. = Cocaine. He was a drug user for as long as he was on the scene. I'm sure they'll find it in his system.
With that said, gone are now three of the iconic voices from that period of time. Scott, Layne, and Kurt.
I'm glad I got to see Scott multiple times, both with STP and Velvet Revolver. VR was a really great band. "Fall to Pieces" is epic.

                              RIP

In my opinion... Weiland wasn't Weiland with Velvet Revolver. I couldn't get into their music.

I was a loyal STP FAN.

Even when Weiland did that SOLO thing for a year or two.... it wasn't that good.

Guy just couldn't stay clean. I remember they almost postponed the STP show in December 1996. Weiland was so messed up on the tour. Band members were fighting etc. They did the Detroit show... and I believe cancelled the remaining shows that were scheduled in January 1997.

Stone Temple Pilots were supposed to do a KISS Reunion tour and couldn't get their sh#$ together in 1997. Unreal.

Cocaine abuse really does a number on the arteries i.e. I have a friend who abused it for many years and in his 30's he's had a double AND a triple bypass already. But I doubt he was clean. It's a life-style thing....... music, sex, drugs and rock & roll.

It's unbelievable really. Like how most rock groups get old and do reunion tours...

This will never happen... and it blows my mind. I was counting on it.

You never know, he could have been clean. The damage was mostly done in his 20's and 30's, and once you have respiratory problems you are living on borrowed time.

I saw STP in concert the early 2000's when Weiland got clean for the first time. He was finally looking healthy and never sounded better. That was one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

Caught STP in Madison back around 1999/2000. Was pretty impressed with how well he sounded live.

With that said, gone are now three of the iconic voices from that period of time. Scott, Layne, and Kurt.
I'm glad I got to see Scott multiple times, both with STP and Velvet Revolver. VR was a really great band. "Fall to Pieces" is epic.

Nowell sucked at using drugs. I mean forget about the music that might have been, that guy didn't even get a chance to enjoy the limelight for a little while. Nice buzz, Brad, hope it was worth it. Complete fail.
