Oh ok that explains it. I actually didnt use it last trip, I used it two trips ago. I remember the UBER driving saying he couldn't drop us off on the strip and that he also could not go to the airport.

You can negotiate with cab drivers now. Tell them how much the Uber ride will be and ask if they will match it. Well, it worked the one time I tried that here in Ca. I was getting ready to call an Uber and a cab driver was there waiting and waived me over. I told him I was going to call an Uber and he said he would take me for the same price and I wouldn't have to wait. So I guess there really was no negotiating. Of course I jumped into the cab.

I remember taking a cab in Louisville years ago to the Greyhound station from my hotel. Station was about 1.5 miles away. Cabbie tried to charge me the airport flat rate, which was like $30. Never turned his meter on. Piece of shit. I gave him $5 and said he could call the cops if he wanted. He just yelled at me and sped away.

Here's some things to consider Vegas is a very poor city… It's mainly tourist driven with very low wages… It's not even remotely close to a big-time business city where people need rides all over and also there is zero college atmosphere here which is very uber friendly and lots of states

There are not a lot of places that you can actually go


Uber will be nothing like real major cities like Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Boston LA, etc.


People have no understanding of Las Vegas and less you live here… I repeat it's the third poorest city in United States

Cab ride from airport to golden nugget $45.
So round trip is $90.
Can rent a car for 3 days for that.

My last trip we rented a car for $60 for 3 days.
Went to the Hoover dam, all over Vegas, ect.
With gas it was under $90.

Also remember there are Uber drivers who wont follow the uber rules. I have been dropped off and picked up at John Wayne airport by Uber when they were not allowed to do that.

i imagine they will get caught though as Uber knows whereyou are picking up and dropping customers off.
