Man, that's sad. He brought the horror movie to an all different level. Really enjoyed his work.

Some of best movies of yesteryear. Loved Nightmare on Elm Street and the Scream franchise but many others including Deadly Friend , People Under the Stairs, and Last House on the Left. Absolute brilliant work !!

I forgot about Deadly Friend. Great movie. I remember my sister didn't like it because the "Little House On The Prairie" guy decided to do a horror movie.

RIP , he was great at having a scary atmosphere for his movies
Nightmare on Elm Street was a decent series, but the first one is the best easily imo

Loved this movie. Finally got my wife to watch it on Netflix a few months ago.
The only real bad movie that I can remember that he had done was called Deadly Friend. It was about a teenage robotic genius who brought a girl he met back from the dead with some kind of chip from his robot and she went around killing everyone. The ending left you .

The People Under The Stairs is my favorite movie he made

Yeah. It was pretty fukked up. Why someone would do that to another human being, record it, and upload it for the world to see is really sad. hopefully it comes out that it was fake.

it's great to see you guys say how much you liked TPUTS
I always loved that movie
it has the best of all horror elements
truly scary, weird, memorable, funny, clever
it just has it all..
and I said TSATR - which I saw in theaters when it was released
more high-brow for Craven.. supernatural voodoo in Haiti.
I saw Nightmare in theaters when it was released in 1984
that was very very good also
especially when your 15 and baked.
