Every month when I receive my Texas State Bar magazine, I find myself reading over the "Disciplinary Actions" section, to see if I know any of the idiots who have been disbarred, suspended, etc., for what, and the extent of the punishment, and what they have to do to possibly be reinstated.
Similarly, every week i find myself reading the "Police Blotter" of my local neighborhood newspaper, published weekly, to see what the local crimnals have been up to, who's been driving drunk, and to see if I recognize the late night "handi-work" of my pet chimp in any of the unsolved crimes occurring on nights when he was out of his cage and on the loose.
After reading the recent "shari-thread" that's now been closed, in which debates raged on and on about who was banned and why, and how some posters simply vanish and are never heard from again (I was almost one of those for a day or so), I'd like to make a suggestion to SBR to improve its "customer relations," as well as provide a hot area of the forum that people would always be looking at each week or so, much like I do with my state bar rag and local paper:
Create a new subforum dedicated to the topic of "Who's OUTTA Here and Why" wherein the posters who have bit the dust are identified and a brief explanation of what they did is provided, and the length of the ban, etc. Maybe only the lifetime bans are explained in any detail, and minor infractions just lumped into groups with names provided.
I sometimes feel like we are a heard of antelope running out an african plain, and each day a few of us are picked off, yet we don't really know wtf happened to our brethren....
Russian Rocket for example....... one day here making us laff, winning us some money on hockey, the next day gone! Various people wondering out loud "wtf happened to Sasha"? No one really knows, just a bunch of speculation, maybe some vague shit about "he knows what he did" or whatever, but usually just the several people saying "man that sucks" and "he was an asset to the forum" or whatever.......
I say bring on the equivalent of a police blotter to SBR, so the rest of us will have a guide of what's going on disciplinary wise, and a great gossip forum that will no doubt generate a lot of traffic for SBR, as well, with people discussing what the banned poster did, how stupid it was, whether it really warranted a life-time bann, etc., etc., etc.
