I have been to the west coast of America and never understood the fuss of how everyone says most people are fat. Then someone told me that its mostly in the south and hick areas (no offense).
He was right, as California is among the least obese states.

When I used to see the scales for height and weight and being overweight, they didn't make sense. Like normal looking people would be considered overweight by the scale they used so I chalk this up as bs also.

Fried foods, old people and retirees and lazy fukks on govt checks. Perfect storm in the areas. Put a beach nearby and people slim down...middle of nowheresville....people get fat and happy. Its not surprising.

Should probably be taken with a grain of salt; the "data" comes from people self-reporting their height and weight in telephone surveys (not very accurate methodology), then used to calculate BMI (also fairly unreliable). You could just as easily draw the conclusion that people in the Western states are more likely to lie about their weight, or that the errors in the faulty BMI calculation are particularly evident in the Southern states.

I almost enlisted in the army at 30...at that point I was 5'9 213.....brick shit house. They said that those numbers were not suitable because I shplould be about 30 lbs lighter. They worked that part out because I had no more than 10lbs to lose.

I ended up not following thru for other reasons.

I was just surprised to see Hawaii so fit. I worked on a cruise ship and saw 4 of those islands up close every week. They could have all been Samoa judging by the people there. Honolulu has a LOT of Japanese people. They probably brought the avg down.

30 is no time to opt for shit pay ....hard times ? That's the only people going in to the military in their 30s sure they'll hide behind patriotism but I know what's going on my best friend is a navy recruiter.
