Its the save the children, Conservative Christian, book burning, African American fearing, 10% tipping Right that wants to get rid of it.

On the other hand business interests hope to keep it.

Even in America, business interests usually win.

Nothing will get voted on until 2017 either way so it stands as is.

Among Presidential contenders so far Rand Paul (GOP) has stated numerous times he is against restricting online gambling, says its not the govt's business....Hillary Clinton (Dem) voted FOR the ban under the UIGEA as Senator in 2006 but has since then rode the fence as to what she'll do with the RAWA currently sitting in the House and not yet brought to the floor in the Senate.

I don't see it changing anytime soon so we can just get use to the limbo.

The biggest lobby against legalized online gambling are the European sportsbooks that would lose the monopoly they have if the United States legalized it.

I bet Tony at 5 dimes sends political contributions thru his intermediaries to make sure it stays illegal in the states.

Las Vegas does not want online gambling either. If you can make bets from home, you aren't spending money at their hotels..

There are too many forces against it in play, and the most prominent is the gambling industry itself.
