P) - Police officers in Florida say George Zimmerman has been involved in a shooting.
The Lake Mary Police Department said in a Twitter post that their officers responded Monday to a shooting involving the former neighborhood watch leader. The tweet provided no other details, and a spokeswoman didn't return multiple phone calls.
Zimmerman was acquitted in 2013 of fatally shooting Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager, in a case that sparked protests and national debate about race relations.
The Justice Department later announced it was not bringing a civil rights case against Zimmerman.
Since his acquittal, Zimmerman has had several brushes with the law.
Those include two incidents involving allegations of assault by girlfriends, and his wife claiming he smashed her iPad.
Charges were either dropped or not pursued because of a lack of evidence in those casesComment -

I live a couple miles away from this story. Crazy guy still lives near neighborhood where he killed Travon Martin, he still drives the same truck from back then also, todays shooting is less than a mile from the Travon shooting. His truck today has a bullet hole thru the passengers window, looks like someone recognized him and tried to kill him. At least Casey Anthony had enough sense to disappear after getting away with murder.Comment -

i disagree, zimmerman has done nothing that should have landed him in prison.....
in this latest case, the psycho that took a few shots at him will be charged and convicted.

haha.... on a personal note, I knew the drug kingpin of central florida, who lived in lake mary until his arrest a few years back, on a personal level.....
i can attest that someone can get shot there without necessarily being all that much of a dick.....
