depends on person/job/and in what way the phone is being used. For sales I'm constantly on my phone for both business and pleasure purposes. I send a lot of texts to customers as they find it easier to respond when they are working but still trying to work a deal to purchase a new vehicle. Or I send them emails with links to information on the vehicle.

Also, i find more customers will say NO to me via text than through the phone. i can call a customer for a week straight and leave messages. Then, I shoot a text and they will respond saying they are not interested or went with another product or whatever.

So in that sense, the technology aka the phone is a great tool to make me money.

On the other side, I will also agree that technology has really brought down how people communicate. I see it daily in guys a couple years younger than me, not saying I'm old at all....I'm 24. but younger guys can't communicate and use full sentences. It's sad. Not all people of course, but a good majority.

Take a basic interview, most wouldn't be able to sit in a room for that 20-30 minutes and not think about social media or who is texting them. Would they be able to make eye contact and speak with confidence? Most cannot.

As I do agree that technology is a great tool pending how you use it, it 100% takes control of peoples lives.
