Exactly what i was thinking. This is sad and so funny. DI's have changed, can't imagine the same reaction from a DI in Naval Seal training or Marines.

People would be surprised. Some of those rearword Supply MOS types get some action. They have to travel down hostile roads etc to get in place and sometimes have to actually man-up.

I had a buddy in Army supply. Said after 2 years a SGT. Realized nobody qualified with a mounted .50 cal. Said he drove them to a field told them pull charging handle and shoot, That was it

Yea the 'check the box' quals are ridiculous. But you are correct about certain noncombat arms units getting heavy engagement. For awhile more truck drivers and mechanics were getting injured/killed because once a HUMVEE or APC broke down or got stuck in the sand its abandoned by the Infantry until the mechanics or truckers can come retrieve it....they got ambushed constantly and give the and guys credit....who would you rather pick a fight with....infantry convoy armed to the tooth and rolling through town....or a bunch of chemical corps and other nonessential MOS guys listening to iTunes and taking pictures of the pretty scenery to throw on Facebook to look cool

I said that people in the ARMY get no respect. Meaning People in general do not give them respect or think highly of them.

However if you are in the Marines or in the Navy Seals you get respect from the general population.

And I said if I could i would join the Marines.... after seeing American Sniper it made me want to do it. But problem is they will not take you after you are 28 years old. So i guess i waited too late but I would def love to strap up and go to war. We got the best weapons in the world right here.. no other country can fukk with us.

Buddy sent me a video few years ago, it showed a supply chain being escorted by i believe Virginia National Guardsmen. Convoy came under attack and the Virginia Guard took off left the stranded. Now, i don't know what OPSEC was, but surely you don't leave defenseless contractors behind. If you're interested i'll look up video.
From what i understand the Virginia guard was supply MOS types.
