    Worst sports cliches
What's the most overused, meaningless, or just flat out dumb cliche constantly spoken in sports world in your opinion? Few examples off top of my head....

    1. "Next man up"
    2. "We gotta give 110% to win this gm"
    3. "I want to thank god for this win" (close to my fave moron statement)
    4. "We have the best fans in the world"

That last one wins the prize for me. What a moronic , kiss ass cliche line that is with really nothing to back it up. Even teams that been shit for years playing in front of half empty venue with fans wearing bags over their heads can have 1 good year and whip this fabled line out.

"take it one game at a time" or

"we just didn't execute... give them (the other team) credit, but we didn't play as well as we could have"

I hate when announcers say "He came to play"

Yeah, no shit, that's his job.

Another cliche that I really hate that I have been hearing waaay too much on reality shows like American Chopper, Ink master, and many others is "Knocked it out of the park"

Some good ones I hear a lot guys. Listening to radio this morning and can't even remember who the coach was being interviewed now but he went with the "our fans are the greatest " crap line. Just laughed and thought every fukkin team says this and it's ridiculous.

I remember last fall in early Sept Yost called out KC fans for not showing up and supporting team down stretch. Then couple weeks later when it looked like they might make postseason the fair weather fukks came out in droves. Of course Yost changed his tune about having the best fans and we couldn't do it without their support at that point. Lol

I wonder how many athletes actually went to Disney World after they said they were going there.

                          Hey inno,
you know the funny thing about that?...the Braves fans copied that chant from Fla. ST...but the original Fla St. chant went "Let's go seminoles!!!....seminoles!!!....seminole s!!!....Let's go Seminoles!!!...seminoles!!!....seminoles !!!"...that is what they were chanting while doing the tomahawk chop with their hands...and then the Braves fans started going..."ohohoohoho" or something like that and now that is how the Noles fans do it...funny how things come full circle...

"You are what your record says you are" eh not always from a capper standpoint we see thru a lot of smoke/mirrors why a team is maybe playing beyond or below their means at times.

His coaching consisted on standing there with his hands in his pockets the whole game. Then after every game, say the same 10 shitty cliches over and over. The only thing he did right was talk up his players to make them believe they were the best. He had 2 plays.

1.) post up Iso to locate the smaller mismatch. Didn't matter if the player knew how to post up or not. He was going post up iso if he had a smaller player on him. He would call like 3-4 straight ISO's for the corpse of Jermaine O'neal at a time. Or give it to david lee and watch him try to post up and get his shyt pushed in. Fukking unbearable.

2.)Try to run off a screen for Klay or Curry. Shoot 3.
