What Is Your Worst Purchase Mistake Of All Time?
I'm sure we have hundreds of fu#$ups in our lives. But what is the one wrong move that sticks out til this day? Something you totally got fukked on and it still crosses your mind til this day. A deal.... in which you totally got suckered on... or just a bonehead mistake.

    Here's my story...

I was about 12 years old. I think it was 1989. My family wanted to purchase a computer for the household. Back then... what was the processor??? All I can remember... the number was extremely low?? Was it a 386? Or a 486? Regardless... me my mom and dad all walked into a Radio Shack. After 30 minutes of walking around the store... and I'm excited as hell getting a computer!!! I look back to this day... and my dad got totally hosed on this deal. Wow...

All we purchased was a Tandy 2500XL computer system. (I don't even know what the hell a Tandy was back then... Radio Shack said it was the best.) And a monitor... oh... and a power strip. So let's get this straight...

    1 - Tandy 2500XL computer
    1 - Monitor
    1 - Power Strip.

    All for $2,800

Yes, $2,800. My dad knows he got robbed... but not as bad as I do. I mean... he got rocked. The computer was outdated literally within 2 years.... and I didn't even get a damn printer in the deal.

Worst deal ever. It doesn't get anymore dumber than this.

"Vorwerk" vacuum cleaner. Overprized as hell. Definition of overprized. Dumbest purchase we ever made a few years back.

TMS IIRC the Tandy was Radio Shack's brand. That was definitely a hose job! These fukkin Radio Shack guys used to be on commission too I believe. That sales guy cleaned up!

My worst purchase ever was actually a leased car. I took over a lease on a BMW 335 from some girl who had unknowingly destroyed the car in the 6 months she had it. I did the deal over the phone and through email with pics. Everything looked good on the car and so I assumed the lease. Little did I know I had zero recourse when the shit hit the fan. I went to pick up the car at her work in No Cal and the girl literally couldn't find the keys. My buddy who drove me over there found them lying in the dirt near the car! Just sitting in the parking lot at Apple. She then could not produce the second set of keys.

I started walking around the car and there was obvious body damage to it. She tells me that she was just in an accident but it was cheaper to pay cash for the repairs and she didn't think I'd mind. What?

            Rims - scratched to shit
Run flat tires - bubbles in the sidewalls - all needed to be replaced
Oil- car had NO OIL IN IT

I was driving it back to LA from San Jose after calling Lease Trader, BMW, and anyone else I could think of to get me out of this mess. All of a sudden lights and buzzers and shit start going off. I literally had to stop at some auto parts store and buy oil to put in the car.

She never sent me the other key so I got dinged for that when I returned the car. Paid for the other repairs along the way so I didn't get hosed at the end of the lease. Never again. Fun car to drive (6 speed manual) but man what a nightmare.

When I was twelve I traded a brand new Powell Peralta Ray Barbie skateboard with Thunder trucks and Toxic wheels for a Hustler mag and a set of nunchucks. Got hustled by a 16 yr old in my neighborhood--and I knew it within a few minutes of completing the transaction. First time I ever had that sick feeling of buyer's remorse.

Our in-ground spa/hottub. $20G's and nothing but headaches ever since we had it built. If the wife would allow I'd take two tons of dirt and just bury that time vampire. Keeping that thing in usuable condition literally sucks the life right out of me.

Didn't make the purchase, but had a guy stop by to give me an estimate on gutter guards.

It was some foam mesh shit that I knew would clog up with my maple tree seeds. I only needed 80 ft of it.
He tried to charge me 3k for that crap. I got him down to $900. He called his boss and his boss said no.

I said ok, time to leave. He wouldn't leave. I said get out now! We get outside and his bald front tire is flat.
No spare. I get out my floor jack, take his tire off, fill it with air, plug the hole, refill and put his tire back on.
                        Sent him on his way.

Went to Lowes and spent $40 on my own gutter guards and installed them myself.

I bought one at Hill's department store in 1994 for $40

It works great if you only want a one size haircut. After a few cuts the blades start to get dull and it pulls your hair out rather than cuts it.

I bought it just to play Dragon's Lair and the original Need for Speed.

I also bought a really shitty Mortal Kombat rip-off game called "Way of the Warrior". The only good thing about this game was that White Zombie did the soundtrack to it and I fell in love with their music. By the way, the company who made the game is called Naughty Dog. My, how far that company has come.

I knew an elderly lady who was recently widowed living in one of those type neighboorhoods that changed not for the better over the 40 years she lived in that particular neighborhood. I went and bought her a Davis .380 pistol on gun salesman's recommendation. Took lady to range and the damn thing jammed after every other shot.
I was familiar with range master so we ran some premium ammo he had through with same results.

So, my answer is a Davis .380

My experience was, and still is an absolute nightmare my friend. I had a full set of dental implants. When they tried pulling my teeth out, they couldn't extract them the normal way because the roots of my teeth have grooves on them like a screw, so they had to cut them out. By cutting them out some bone came with it, and my sinuses dropped, so therefore I had to have multiple bone grafts and 2 sinus lift surgeries. If that was not enough, all the implants on the top failed for unknown reasons, but all those on the bottom are perfectly healthy. I then tried again with having all the implants put in on top but with a different brand, as the dental experts felt that possibly my body was rejecting the materials in the implants, so they ended up using the same brand of implants that I have on the bottom, and again they failed. It is unexplainable. I now have a fixed upper denture. Total cost I have shelled out is $78,000 thousand dollars, as insurance does not cover cosmetic.

To make matters worse when I went to the dentist originally I was only going to have a bridge replaced, but was talked into getting implants, so I decided to go all out and have a full set put in, as I was tired of dealing with dental issues, as it is a hereditary problem I have in my family. By the way I had my dental care done in one of the most prestigious dental clinics in the U.S. This process has taken over 3 years.
