    looking to relocate
I think its time to get out of NY. Where do you guys live? Where do you recommend one should look?

Work is not an issue for me. Wherever I go, I will be opening a NY style pizza restaurant preferably in a suburban area. Schools are very important too, I have a daughter and plan on having two more within next couple years.

Reason for leaving NY? Sick of paying 2100/month rent plus another 400 utilities. My auto insurance for 3 vehicles is just under 450/month. I work to pay bills. I want to work to build equity in a house and to save for kids education and retirement.

    Any suggestions?

    P.S.
Yes I did get killed in yesterdays games, but I already squared up with my local.

If the restaurant is doing well you should be able to stay there. I was in restaurant business for 20years. Get out of it. It will destroy you physically.

Right now im working for someone else. I had a place with my dad growing up, we sold it when I was 27. I opened a straight up pizzeria from scratch and ran it for four years and sold it. 7 days a week got the best of me. Been working for someone else as front end manager ever since. I have no ties here right now and am honestly looking to move for an overall better quality of life for me and my family. I can support myself here the way things are, but not by much. In top of those monthly bills in the opening post, I have two car payments plus some minimal *********** bills. Over 4k a month is heavy for someone who brings home 5k a month after taxes. Wife works couple days a week and that takes care of basic necessities.

Good luck. You need to make some cutbacks on expenses. East coast is not affordable

here is a start, also should consider state income tax if you're planning on this being your last move.

Twist...I live in the Midwest...and that map says it all....I paid 1.68 for gas today which is pretty low and the cost of living is definitely worth the pain of living in the belly of the country.

Lived in PA for few years during high school. Id assume its not much different in ohio, but Im leaning toward going south. If I had to choose right now, id be headed to north carolina.

What about income? What is a comfortable amount of income to live off of in your neck of the woods?

Twister avoid Cali at all costs...it's definitely a great place to live in, but majority of people here are barely surviving and most have a debt up to their eyeballs.
Even as a small business owner, it will be hard for you to afford a good living here, unless you're in hi-tech or entertainment biz.

Cali def not an option...I looking to take some of the daily pressure off and move to a place that doesnt require my heart and soul on a daily basis just to survive. I didnt do everything right in my life, and if I would have made some better decisions, this wouldnt even be a thought. Unfortunately, I feel like I am at one of lifes crossroads and its time to make a drastic change in my life. Im just unsure of the best way to do it. Im sick of NY. Im in need of some new scenery. Only problem is that any decision I make affects three people, not just me. I dont want to fukk this up.

I lived in OKC/Edmond, OK for a numbers of years and the income in that area is between $75k - $90k in the better areas to live in and people were living in very nice areas....in the Kansas area same but homes are nicer

surrounded by beautiful ountains, generally well-tempered, good southern hospitality(for the most part), and people love pizza down here.
the latter could be a down-side because we already have a lot of family-owned pizza places.(mellow mushroom, lupis, mr-ts) so competition could be fierce.

If it makes you feel any better you'd be paying $3500 for a 1 BR apt here in San Francisco.
