    In running For Trip Again
Last year i posted about being in the running for a Barbados Trip. I actually was in the running all year and ended up going. Posting on here i am sure gave me luck. I put some pictures of it on the other thread .

This year the trip is to ARUBA !!! I have not had a s great a year as last year. Again the Top 45 in the Nation go . The contest ends end of March. I made a push coming into December and got to #66 . So i figured i will keep pushing and hope to maybe sneak in the backdoor . So i pushed all through December and i was shocked to see the update as of yesterday i am #45 !!! So if the contest ended today i would be going to Aruba.

Unfortunately it ends at the end of March . But hey i am at least back in the running . I figure if i post again for this trip i will get luck like last year when i went to Barbados.

Yes the top 45 in the nation in sales go to Aruba. They list the top 75 but only the top 45 go. It is kind of neat because last year if you are in the top 45 during the year as the contest goes on they send little incentives showing you that you are in the top 45 at the moment. Last year i got a few things like a multi-tool kit , a nice coffee mug with my name on it, etc...

I have to say they treated us really great last year ( Myself and my wife went to Barbados) every day they had different stuff sent to our room while we were there. Huge gift Basket , Rum and Rum cakes made on the island so i am sure they will do the same for Aruba.

I have a $2000 lead over the guy at #46 and i am about $1000 off of the person at #44 so now i need to try and move up if i can. If i fall under 45 i do not get to go .

Thanks i hope i can keep the pace up. I sell medicare Insurance i am a Broker . Certain companies at times will have different things for incentives to get you to sell them. Years ago they used to do the trips if you would sell a certain amount normally at $125000. But now most do not do that they just send a certain amount in this case it is the Top 45 nationwide.

MA plans? Do you work with any of the plans on the west coast? I work peripherally in that industry but call on the plans themselves. Mostly medicaid or plans for the duals, commercial HMO, and some MA.

Wow look at this we are on the same wavelength here lol. Yes i do the MA plans i dabble in the exchanges(Obamacare ) but my main things are the true Med Supps. I love them the most . When i show someone the different choices once they see the difference between an HMO or a PPO and the Med Supp they almost ALWAYS go with the Med Supp. And they should because it is better for them and it is better for you the agent. The MAs do not do the trips that i have seen it has only been the Med Supps depending on the company.

I am on the East coast i have been doing this i guess close to 9 years now or so. You should looking into selling the Med Supp too Gaucho add them to your arsenal . I sell probably 90% Med Supps once the people see the difference . And maybe one day you can get a trip or different incentives . So far we have gone to Barbados and Paris . I actually got one for the Dominican Republic but they cancelled that one and took us out to Ruth Cris Steak House and gave us a check instead. That was when the Enron or whatever it was happened so they did not want to look bad so they did that instead. And if you do get to go on a trip they will pamper the hell out of you too.

They need to come up with a supplemental health insurance plan to cover costs up to our deductibles.

Remember i sell Medicare and most that i sell is exactly that . No Deductible and No Co-Pays. That would be the F or the C Plan.

Latest Update they just put up the latest rankings. I moved up from #45 to #40 Top 45 End of March Go to Aruba. I extended my lead a bit more giving myself about $9000(Was at a $2000 lead ) ahead of the person at 46. Plus i have been on the road last couple days selling and got them all so that will help. I would love to extend my lead even more in case i have a dry spell . As long as i finish Top 45 i Qualify for the Trip.

You need to get your health license first and take that test. Then get your E & O insurance. Then you get certified with all the different companies you want to sell if you are a Broker like me .

Been doing this 10 years now . To get a job like this you must have your health License. I am actually a broker so i do not sell just a single company. So once you have your license next you have to get certified in the different companies you would want to sell.

Some of these companies want you to sell them . So they offer incentives. Some will do trips like this one. Some will do the top 45 like this one in sales. Others will do if you reach a certain amount you would automatically qualify.

This job is a 100% commission job though. So you have to build up your clients. But it is a residual income . So if you get a sale for a certain amount of years you get paid every month on that policy. Unless it is an HMO then it is once a year but a larger amount. Many cannot do this type of job because you have to understand how Medicare works and be willing to not make a ton out of the gate.

I am licensed in PA and NJ. There are companies you can work for like Bankers but i would not touch them. Better to find a brokerage that deals with Medicare Insurance and go there. That way you can sell more then one thing. Also- you have to have E & O insurance in case someone tries to sue you. In 10 years i have never had that issue but you still must have it.

I will say though if you get good at this i at least have never seen such good perks from the different companies i sell . So far i have gone to Barbados and Paris . I also got one for the Dominican Republic but they cancelled that one and gave us the cash instead . The trips are really awesome they want to impress you so you will keep selling them. Barbados they even gave us $1600 in room credit so we did not have to spend a cent . Paris they took us for lunch inside the Eiffel Tower.

What kind of insurance is it Medicare? If it is underage (Which i dabble in more of a courtesy) like the Health Exchange it pays crap that is true. You cannot make a great living on a lousy 3% . That is why i like the Med Supp. I make a good amount per year but i have had to build my clients up. I sell HMOs but i am not big on them most sales are the Med Supp .

You cannot make a great living on a lousy 3% . That is why i like the Med Supp. I make a good amount per year but i have had to build my clients up. I sell HMOs but i am not big on them most sales are the Med Supp .

It is not a job for everyone . You will not make a lot at first because you need to build your clients up. I focus on HMOs and Medicare Supplements. Most sales 70% are Med Supps and that is what i want. I also check the Drug plans for my clients too which i do not make a ton on .

I get mainly referrals now as i have built my clients up. But when you start you need to get leads any way possible. One good way is get certified with Humana during the drug season (Oct 15th -Dec 7th ) they have the kiosks in the Walmarts. That is a good way to get leads. People that have a need for a drug plan also can get the Medicare Supplement. I have done seminars and Mail outs to people turning 65 . I have basically been everywhere in 10 years -Acme,CVS,Costco ,Walmart ,Rite Aide , getting a little desk and helping any i can who is on Medicare and had a question.

Yea i agree the Health Exchanges are insane. My real cash is from the Medicare side of it. But when you get a client and they ask if you can help their 35 year old son i do what i can even though it is as you say assloads of work. Actually just yesterday i did one took a couple hours of insanity for like a total of $12 . I make housecalls for Medicare sales i will not for anything dealing with the exchanges .

I really like the Med Supp though. It may not pay like a large company like you say but it is residual. An HMO pays Average $300 one shot for the year then you get WAY less the following year. A Medicare Supplement pays less like $20-$30 a month depending on Age and what plan. But- it is per month and keeps paying the next 6 years. After 6 years it drops but that is why every few years you try to switch them to another company and get another 6 years.
