Tell me about it. Bought my condo in Vegas back in 2007, right before the bubble burst because I never owned anything and wanted to. Biggest single mistake of my life. Love Vegas, but stuck here now.

Any big town wears you out. It's a hassle to go anywhere. Pick a small town near a big town in FL. I like Fernandina Beach FL. Beach is never crowded. Dogs allowed. 99 percent whitey. 20 minutes from Jax.

Kraken sorry bro, I know LA is not for the sheltered grumpy old farts.. Sorry bro..

I work with a guy that actually lives within a few houses of Cobains house and knew him quite well. Legend has it when Nirvana was getting more well known, he would blare their CD's in the OR non-stop He's a cardiothoracic surgeon now but when that happened he was a CT surgery fellow, just a few years away from being a surgeon. The nurses I work with tell me how annoying it was because it was non-fukking stop. Kinda cool.
Awesome Story!
I believe the CEO of Starbucks is a Cobain neighbor, or was i should say

Ya I've heard this before. Interesting.
no worries about the ratio though, no shortage of bangin' hot broads in SD

Lived in cities or at least had extended stays in various places all over.
For me a rural area with no less than 5 acres is ideal. No neighbors and if i can't whip it out on my property and pee then it's no good. Cities are for metro-sexual types.

Santa Barbara and SD are beautiful year round. LA is a concrete jungle with a smog dome smothering the inhabitants. Anymore than a few days there is dangerous

Tell me more about Ruidoso. I drove all over southern NM a few years back, and drove right through it because I was tired. Wish I stuck around a bit.

LA itself will be Mexico City in 30 years ....will be like something out of total recall I won't be here hell I say I live in LA and so does Mayan but reality is most people live in suburbs of LA. Joe thinks LA will be Mexico City in 10 years yikes. I don't think even Mayan can say we aren't over crowded no bs it took us 75 mins to go from walnut to roscoes on la brea and pico... Traffic on a Sunday night insane

I must be. I have to admit I try to get the hell out of LA as fast as I can every time I'm there. I've been there probably 25 times in my life and probably spent less than 25 hours there. Maybe I just don't know the good parts.
I do like Manhattan Beach and Topanga Canyon

Live in NYC ... stuck for professional reasons, but travel a lot for professional reasons too - so I see a lot of places and form opinions. NYC is great if you have the money - not a place for idle people.
I like pretty much any rich town in CA. In CO I like Denver/Boulder, even Grand Junction. (Brother lives there - he's into bikes/motor sports) - love it.
The only other cold weather cities I could live in are Chicago or Portland Maine.
Texas and Florida are great states w too many worthy places to mention. I think my goal is to live Ponte Vedre, FL ultimately.
Lastly, Seattle blows. People are too fukkin weird. I've been there too many times, I dread the place.

I always thought there was something off about people in WA. You get outside the city an hour or two and shit gets really weird.

As a whole, People in Seattle are weird, no doubt. Very pretentious as well. A lot of very alternative life styles up here. When I lived in OKC and thought of a liberal, I just always thought of someone that was politically liberal.
Now living here, it means something entirely else. It's a life style that has nothing to do with politics. The liberal life style here is way outside of my comfort zone.
That said, there's still a lot here to offer, especially if you life being out side. Tons of great biking and running paths. Lake Washington, Puget Sound, great hiking trails (find the mail box) and great summers. Lots of good food but honestly that seems to be normal everywhere now.
I really like it here but agree, it's weird.
