this dude is from memphis, and he's better than the dude on your local corner, i guarantee that. he may never get the shine he deserves. these days especially, that's not uncommon.

but you cannot tell me that he does not murder this track

hes solid enough to make some loot, but was expecting more from the way you was leading up to playing the track.

fair enough. dudes like this just do not come out of memphis though man. i think that might be where my bias comes in. you don't hear a guy straight murder a diss record like this. it's always about being fukked up, or dancing, or having sex, or something stupid. that's why i posted the mini documentary too, if you liked it you could hear him talk for a bit, and hear some other songs.

a lot of this shit is local references too..

"this is the rebirth of playa fly ***** without the coke habit"

"tell gotti if i don't do a song with him i'm startin the beef over"

"and the white boy you was gamblin on, all bets off"

and my personal favorite reference, and a lot of it is in the delivery..."so motherfukk rap ***** go find you a plan b/look what happened to nasty nardo, he was out before me"

then giving everyone 72 hours to respond.

this could just be me being proud of someone from my town, but dude has skills. and i ain't totally biased. there are plenty of memphis cats who are no good at all.

Blanket statement but southern rap is seriously lacking lyrically and has done nothing to further the game recently.

I still bump AZ and Cormega regularly, two of the GOATs and neither was ever a household name

mo i can't get into the whole "i don't care about being here" style that's so prevalent now. also, not into the non-existent lyrical content. but, the beat, that shit's creative man.

i'm grasping for straws man, i'm grasping for straws. i just don't like what rap has become for the most part.

just blaze i love az and cormega. i must have missed that track, and i dig it. but those dudes (especially cormega), i love those dudes. cormega is one of my favorites. i returned one of my dad's father's day presents that he hadn't opened the plastic on yet to get the official version of the testament when it finally came out (i already had it on badly dubbed cassette).

but if you're telling me that miscellaneous's verse on the control track just doesn't stack up to an average east coast rapper, then we gotta go to war.

"money hos and blo, all a ***** knows"

Biggie summed it up well with 10,000 fewer words than ur boy.... wasn't that impressed.... every big city, with a big inner city, has guys like this a dime a dozen..... here in htown we have several locals that have the same talent as those making records, just not the connections or the big break they need......

He's actually decent, rambles off beat a lot.
But he's from Memphis so you have to factor in he's probably ghetto as fukk and dumb as a rock. Most pathetic, disgusting, and uneducated major city in the country. Those lyrics are way too advanced for the South.

haha, ok. as a memphian i'll take the backhanded nature of this in stride.

yeah, he really was one of the first to do it. i obviously was never a fan. but it's funny how i never really traced it all back to him even though he was out when i was really in my peak hip-hop years. when i was really getting into shit. mase was like public enemy #1 for me.
