I live an hour from Dallas, and I literally have barely heard a mention of Ebola. It's not an issue whatsoever in my circles.

The "fear" factor JJ mentions must be a lower class thing. Most likely determined by someone's level of education.

I talked to a doctor about Ebola. He was freaked out by it because they did not teach it in medical school. They are really just guessing at how to treat it. This doctor in NYC just got it. He was on subways and ate at restaurants. It is just a matter of time. Make sure you know wilderness survival. You will want avoid people at all costs when the outbreak occurs.
