Hey, you can even post your own performance too if you're confidence with your singing skills!
Guys, USA Anthem is very CHALLENGING to sing. High notes, low notes, Not easy! Don't end up like Christina, lol.

IMO it was Marvin Gaye at the 1983 NBA All Star game.

      Thanks for asking.

I love Marvin Gaye but not really a big fan of this version. National anthem with drums? No, thanks.
I think Maria Carey and Beyonce's performances are much better.

Btw, do you know this version? Omg!

What a shame. Shame on you Carl Lewis!

Guys I have never been so struck by the national anthem as I was when I heard this version a few days after 911 at a WWE match. Wasn't watching it but heard a sports talk guy play it on the radio and thats where he said the clip was from. Now she starts out as good but nothing really out of the ordinary but wait until she sings "And our flag- was- still -THERE" Which is exactly the way it should be sung as in - its amazing the flag is still there!!! Not somber like it's ordinarily sung. You can really feel the electricity in the house as she builds to this moment. Love it!

She starts at 2:52 if you want to skip ahead

Without a doubt, Marvin Gaye. He did it in a time when you didn't mess with the national anthem. He gave it soul.

One of the best lip-synced versions anyway

Indeed, in person for a Blackhawks anthem at home is an event unto itself at times ...

Within the past month or so, I saw a gal in the armed forces doing it and she was superb. She did not go all Diva like every other girl who has done it in the past 10 years but instead did it in the traditional way, just over a minute probably. No artistic flourishes, no voice wavering, no semidemiquavering, just straight up and respectful. She made it about the song and country and not about her talent unlike EVERY OTHER DIVA I'VE SEEN DO IT, MALE AND FEMALE. Why can't these 'performers' / fakers just do it with respect and put the anthem over themselves? As a rule the longer the take to do it,many have gone over 2 minutes which is hard to do, the more I hate it.
