What are your gambling superstitions?

Do you wear your favorite shirt? Have a lucky coin, bobble head or lucky charm?

In my years of gambling, I've found the week of the full moon messes up my gambling.
My clear, concise betting becomes cloudy during that week and usually get my ass kicked.
(dogs usually win during that week)

I usually wear a blue shirt while betting. I found when getting my ass handed to me a
couple of days, I'll switch to a red shirt and start winning. (wearing red helps during the full moon)

I keep a daily/ monthly graph of my win/ losses and read it like you would a stock graph.
Double bottom means my bets will do good for a few days. A double top means I will do
bad for a few days. It also goes side ways. (make my best money)

It will be interesting to hear what you guys do.

Mom shipped me a small ivory buddah sculpture she had bought from a psychic in vegas when she was out last year.

Threw it in a box and then found it the other week….well it was my Thursday night poker…I had never lost at this game, always at least broke even.

Decided to use that fukkin buddah as a chip topper…that night I lost $800 on a 1/2nl table...

But wait guys it gets better, driving home on the highway and about a mile before my exit my truck starts making this ticking noise, I decide right when I get off I'm gonna stop in this gas station and check it out as I am cruisin' off the exit…BOOOM my fukkin truck throws a rod through the bottom of the engine.

I just knew it was that buddah, girl was at work so I legged it a mile home, on the way threw that piece of shit buddah into pond.


Haven't lost at that game since.

The wife and I did the same thing. I was in a blue shirt and the wife had on a pink shirt. I said we better change into our green lucky shirts. Yep, we both lost. Learned from that lesson. Keep on what you got.

While our luck certainly does not dictate or influence how a particular team will perform and help you win or lose but what happens is that it makes you either stay away from a said game consciously or subconsciously or get on board on a game you had no intention of betting.

Believe it or not luck does play a part in sports wagering....and if luck does play a part superstitions are a part and parcel of it.

If I go on a hot streak of hitting 5 in a row or so, I'll lower my betting amount going forward because I just am certain the next loss is coming soon.

Once that loss is out of the way, I'll resume my normal betting amount.

i always try to do everything the right way when i have money riding on a game... be courteous to everyone , have positive attitude etc...

especially if it is a casino that has the "no mid shoe jump in" rule

if the shoe is hot I can raise wagers on 3 or 4 hands.

If cold, I can bet barw minimal and I know nobody else is going to penetrate up play and blow up a good shoe

Me too...I prefer to be alone and playing 2 hands (don't think they allow 3 or more around here) I'd rather lose playing alone then some idiot hitting a 12 with dealer showing 5 and screwing up the shoe.
