Nice Gummo just giving his take. Like many who don't have such a large voice or impact on society I was simple giving his take. I listen to comics like Carlin , Burr, Kinison, Stanhope , Pryor in part because I live vicariously thru them and share their beliefs for most part. Been to 4 or maybe even 5 of his shows b.t.w. and met him every time he s cool as Fukk and even mentioned my cousin on a podcast once which was hilarious! Chicago theatre was the best tho Burr, Atell, Norton, and .Bruer. Sadly ol freckle face was the weak link that night in my opinion Norton stole the show! Still great tho seeing 4 titans I admire on the same card.
Ice water challenge...anyone tired of it?

#38Of course it is. But the important part gets overlooked.Originally posted by R.P. McMurphyThe great comedian Bill Burr gives a great objective and practical take on his 8-18 podcast. Basically he says it's a bunch of self serving , look at me b.s.
#1 - The amount raised is phenomenal
#2 - There's no "forcing" anyone to donate a specific amount. It's crowd funding through peer pressure. Want to take a stand - go for it.
I really like Bill Burr (the street fair muffin bit is one of the funniest bits of all time) - but outside of a bunch of narcissists acting in character, I fail to see the downside.
(As opposed to the NFL where they won't even openly discuss how much money from the pink gear sales actually goes to research etc)

I am kind of burnt out on it, but YES, the amount of money raised is great (as long as most goes towards ACTUAL research, not towards "administrative costs".
think I read that for past month compared to same period last year, it like 40+million compared to like 2 million, and like 800,000 new donors.
oh and that bill burr skit about being at street fair with his gf and wanting to just start punching muffins is classic. I used have that DVD special, lent to a buddy and never got back.

#48this is a dumb trend and people don't understand the real reason for this.
the guy that started this didn't want people to dump ice water to support als, he wanted people to donate money for a good cause.
now this is just a big joke... a big fail on his part.
if i were him, i would've picked russian roulette, not this dumb shit.
let's see how many people actually try the "russian roulette" challenge rather than just donating $100.Comment -

#54Are you high? In 3 weeks the ice bucket challenge has raised an unbelievable amount of awareness for ALS and over $53 mil in donations. The same 3 week period last year? $2.2 million. The entire year last year they raised under $20 mil. How the fukk is that a big fail? Sure it's getting a little old, but the more people do it, the more money is raised, and that's a great thing.Originally posted by Ghenghis Kahnthis is a dumb trend and people don't understand the real reason for this.
