    Collectibles & Memorabilia
Were all into sports. Most of us are into memorabilia and sports history.

Just started collecting sports in recent months, had been doing auctions / garage sales for several years. Figured I would make a thread for everyone to post up their digs.

Hell lets make it a contest, someone post their most prized items.

Ill start. New collector so not much stuff, really looking for a pair of signed pacman boxing gloves right now.

Yogi Berra ball JSA and PSA.

    My packers gear

    JSA Hank Aaron

Bobby Cox Ball - In Person, comes into wifes work all the time, have a rookie card in the mail gonna try to get that signed by him as well.

    Lets see em

    Hopped a few new items..

I got a 1957 New York Yankees Topps Team Card for $2.00 at a garage sale, took it to a collectibles show this weekend. The card books for $100 dude offered me like $300 in trades for signed baseballs, passed, not names I was interested in. Also have some older packers stuff. Paul Horung 8x10 Auto Photo…Jim Taylor 1962 Collectible Coin….Jerry Kramer signed rookie card….also some Chipper Jones cards.. etc. etc. etc.

Went to a Evan Gattis (Braves) and Devonta Freeman (Falcons) signing this past saturday -- Freeman is a class act. Dudes legit.

No one wanna show off? Hmm…unusual for a usually cocky crowd.

So my uncle (RIP) was a director who directed this commercial

he got a signed ball from Kareem (Fukk Larry Bird) and I ended up with the ball after it was given to me some years later. My uncle was an awesome dude and I was and am a die hard Lakers fan so the ball is definitely my most prized piece of memorabilia.

Just some autographed jerseys.... Jerome Bettis, Marques Colston, Paul Posluszny, Willie Parker

And a Franco Harris autographed football card. Oh and a Merrill Hoge 8x11 picture autographed.... clearly my greatest piece

Autographed and game used memorabilia is the biggest scam market out there. Its all well and good if youre a fan and like to collect but in terms of monetary value its trash and is a terrible investment.

I have a Roberto Alomar signed rookie card and baseball. I also have a silver Blue Jays world Series Coin so with the price of silver that has to be worth something. By the way all got 93 when the Jays last won the World Series.

This. Market was flooded and the number of fakes and fake COA's makes it a waste of $. The internet ruined the business.

Game used stuff is hot now. I had home, away, and Sunday game used autographed Pujols hats, but sold them when he went to the Angels. I have a few autographed Cardinals things (Pujols, Bob Gibson, Stan Musial), but I really enjoy banners and things. I have a couple banners from the ASG at Busch Stadium a few years ago, and a huge Welcome banner that was used outside the Cardinals locker room in the 1970s at Three Rivers Stadium. Maybe I'll post some pics some time. A couple weeks and I also got an awesome looking Yadier Molina pencil sketching that I need to get framed and hung in the basement.

You gotta be patient and find the right deals. The ASG stuff I got for dirt cheap compared to what they were originally asking, the banner I got at auction for 25% of what the person was originally asking.

If you're a fan, it's all good. I am just wary of anything that wasn't signed in front of me. Think it was on Pawn Stars where there was a COA that was from PSA and it was forged from a less expensive item and made to show a more expensive item as valid. I was big into baseball cards as a kid like most, then the market just died. Have a box full of Griffey Jr. and Bonds cards. Some rookies, some irregulars.
