Food shopping yesterday and I ran into an acquaintance, a guy I graduated HS with. We did some normal bs and as I was walking away I said something like...well when you are dead you're dead and he said oh no. So I expected to hear the same old religious type argument about heaven and hell but his comments were substantially different and I had a mild interest in what he was talking about. Well today he sent me an email telling me about this Pro Beatrice type of belief.

I doubt if any of you have anything on this but if you do a little enlightenment would be appreciated.

They seem to believe in mediums and are big on there being a spiritual world on the other side. Along with us having the ability to connect with the other side but not searching for that knowledge. That's what I took from the site.

Looks like they make their money off of teachings through connecting with the spiritual world. They are instructed by the spirits of God. Sounds a bit wacky but who knows. Their medium transmits lectures from the other side and those are replayed during services. Interesting stuff, it's all done in German as well.

Medium. Some stuff she says, you know she's making it up as she goes along, but some stuff she says, only the person
being read knows. Is she a mind reader or does she really connect to people who've passed?

I got into an argument with my wife's mother about that scam show over Easter weekend because she thinks it is real. My marriage almost ended because of it.

I will believe when there is real proof. I will believe when the entire body of science experiments on this crap and says yes there is something really to believe in here. I want to believe, who doesn't right? I am a little bit more than a skeptic.

You know what puzzles me about this. My friend is highly intelligent, hey he taught at Lehigh. He speaks well, he is well read and he presented much of this to me in about an hour but said very little about the medium stuff and spirt stuff. I guess he knew I would balk. But, he danced around it. Bottom line is I need proof. If proof isn't there I probably will not believe, however Bob said even if I don't believe that is okay. I like that kind of spiritualism. lol

complete skeptics as yourself. Some people can't believe something until it actually happens to them.

Mr K, if it is a reality type show it is scripted. You do know that right. Those people responding are following a script. Check it out, if reality that is the case. I don't know if it is but you should know all the facts about those shows. Almost every reality show is scripted, it has to be or there would be periods of stupid talk and no talk and all types of nonsense. Just look into it.

well I am assuming that show was not scripted, of course when without script these people are mostly frauds. Houdini exposed dozens of them before his death.
