#5Just watched all her LIVE performances
This girl is mesmerizing, from the hip, purely REAL.........
She is 17 going on 50 wisdom , soul wise...
You gotta love her for it..
Gonna go bUy her album "Pure Heroine"
This will be the 1st album I've bought since the mid 90's
2013 debut album from New Zealand singer/songwriter Ella Yelich-O'Connor AKA Lorde. It'd be easy to mistake Ella for a seasoned tunesmith from the American South, one who carries a heavy heart that's been ravaged by careless men over time. But in truth, Lorde recorded these songs as a 16-year old Kiwi championed by the likes of Perez Hilton and Grimes. She has a timeless knack for songcraft with a sophisticated pop savvy that most people over 30 can't find without collaboration. Lorde needs no collaborative hacks -- she writes and sings her own songs. Even when she sings in her higher vocal range about teenage politics, Lorde carries herself with the grace and poise of someone like Beth Orton.

#11I am sure both of these young ladies are talented but damn I cant stand the grunge era. Smells Like Teen Spirit gets a pass but even that iconic 90's ballad doesn't make my ITunes list. Now before you hate me because I don't like your music, I realize it's me - it's not you. There are millions who worship this angst ridden drivel and I understand that but don't quite know why.
But it made me think how cool I think I am when I hear a song on the radio that I like and I'm singing along with it believing with every fiber of my being that there is not a person out there who doesn't love this song and thus I get a pass if they happen to look over and hear the tune blaring and see me screaming it at the top of my lungs with my white man's overbite......yet, I've seen people doing exactly this to songs I don't like and the first thing I think of is...what an asshole.Comment -
