Been with her for 3 months and she never brought it up. We've gone out to eat several times and she never made a mention of it and always had desert. If I hadn't seen her shooting insulin this morning for her type 1 diabetes I might have never found out as she apparently had no interest in telling me. Even though I have not said anything to her I feel betrayed and think she should have told me about this much earlier. I am looking to end it with her at this point but I would feel awful about myself if I told her, her disease was the reason I'm breaking up with her. So do I need another excuse here or should I straight up tell her its over because she hid her diabetes from me?

Get the diabetes thing out of your mind. She held something back for months and you don't like it. You will have this hangup for ever. It would serve BOTH of you well for you to end it. She will obviously find another and you will have more time to cap games, or find another. This isn't the end of the world for anyone involved.

Tell her you spend a lot of time gambling and you want to continue that.

I think you guys are not understanding what type 1 diabetes is. This is a disease that can reduce people lives on average 10-15 years shorter than a non diabetic. Also it is a genetic disease and it can be passed on to offspring. I simply do not see myself having a future with this woman regardless of how good looking she might be.

You even admit that you're current diet will lead you into type 2 diabetes. You should be happy she'll even associate with you.

This does not mean that you're doomed if you're genetically predisposed to it, but that your chances increase dramatically if you have the weak type 1/2 gene(s) and make poor lifestyle/nutrition choices such as a sedentary lifestyle and high sugar diet. Sugar is not just glucose/fructose but all simple carbohydrates which spike blood sugar when in the gut.

Beware of lifestyle spillover. You can get this disease as well if you plunge into the lifestyle which led her into developing it.

Easy - Was trying to figure out what to say to you pal. I've been in your shoes before. When I was younger... we all have that perfect image of what kind of girl we want in our lives 24/7. My friend was dating a diabetic and he told me what she has to go through every single day of her life. There were times that he was sleeping... and she'd start shaking like crazy because she injected herself with too much insulin. She needed sugar immediately etc. I was like man... (to myself) I don't ever want a girl like that. But 10 years later... when you witness all the BS in the world today... you're looking for a girl who loves you pal. It doesn't matter is she's handicapped, diabetic, or has no money etc... do you feel LOVE with her? And if she loves you... that's all that matters. Everything else in my eyes is irrelevant.
