I may feel a bit different since I live in Las Vegas, where being in your 30s and single, man or woman, is looked at as forward-thinking and exciting. The city I was raised in is more like you described. When I was 25, people were already wondering why I hadn't settled down, and if there was something wrong with me as a result. Good thing I moved, or I would have thought the whole world was like that.
