Sorry to hear mate. I hope you're on the mend. Weren't you battling cancer? If so, where are you at in your treatment?

Let me know if you need any quick remedies for anything. I know a thing or two when it comes to health, especially nausea and pain.

You haven't missed much here lately.

No not cancer, might be a neuromuscular syndrome, but no exact diagnosis yet. Weakness and some pain but they haven't any real ideas, could be absolutely nothing. Seeing a few neurologists but this Monday I am going to see a rheumatologist my sis has had lupus for a long time now maybe it is that. I think it is nothing but I am checking it out. Not very worried about it, not worried about dying just don't want an ugly death that is all I ask. Hey we all have to go my friend.

You can buy a book telling you what is what with 45 and albums.

I have an album from my parents that is going for 3 or 4 hundred on Ebay. I will not sell it though, mom and dad are gone so I have that to remember them. I play their old records once in a while and it brings me back to when they were alive. If you have your parents treasure every minute with them, because some day most likely they will only be memories. And it comes sooner than you would think.

Been collecting since the late 60's having thousands of both 45's and lp's. Had a nice pair of wurlitzers '68 & 69 recently on craigslist with no takers at $250. another pair console style wurlitzers sold last week for $10 and $16. A working first style wurlitzer sold at a different auction last week for $500 that once brought 5K. Juke boxes have died for whatever reason unknown.

Yeah they were all in there fifties I think. Your right, the young one today have mostly died of drugs or booze,Amy Winehouse was only 28 due to drug abuse.

Yeah, they are. I paid 8000 for my Wurlitzer. It is the only 45 juke box they still make. Most of them are cds. And that was at least 7 or 8 years ago not even sure they still make them. But, if your dad can find a business that repairs older jukes they usually have dozens of used they will sell and they are almost always lower than 1000 unless it is a classic. Problem is servicing the old ones. I had three of those before I bought my latest. You can get them reasonable.

Wow, this is hard to believe. You can't get any takers for 68 and 69 Wurlitzer for $250. That to me is just amazing. If you search for new Wurlitzers you will find them selling in the 8000 range. I believe that is still true but like I said I bought my W a few years ago, maybe these companies no longer exist. Now with the larger demand for vinyl I would think juke boxes would be hot. This is so surprising

I don't think so, I think they are still selling new for around 8. Did you read no1here, he has a few for sale very reasonable. But, you are across the pond right? Not sure that will work but you should talk to him.

Way cool my close Buddy was a mobile DJ he held onto his vinyl collection knowing that someday it would pop back.

HE always said nothing sweeter than smell of virgin vinyl when you open that new LP.

I once heard a an old zepplin song playing on new laser juke box or downloaded digital juke box in local tavern i noticed hollow vocals and certain instruments not heard as in the LP version

i moved to center myself between speakers thinking maybe thats why ..........but to my dissapointment no diff. it was bland missing omphhhh that live vinyl gives .wake up people a 100 amp stereo and a good turntable are best for sound trash your digital downloaded junk
