Appreciate Shari even discussing what happened and why. Couple years back I had a friend on here who was banned for 6 months and they NEVER told him why. Would not answer his emails. I was at a bash and asked them to look into his case. He was reinstated with this "you know what you did and don't do it again!" Answer this then: why are some rules enforced zero tolerance while others are basically not enforced at all? I believe posters feel as if there is a complete lack of consistency. Noone knows what "rules" will be enforced strictly on what day.
This in turn leads to no respect shown towards any of the rules. I just dont understand all the chest thumping while It seems as if some days people get away with anything and other days they are banned for silly things.

Well life isn't always a bowl of cherries now is it? You'll get a few cherries thrown in from time to time..... but it's mostly just pits, stems, and a few cigarette butts. I can't be on duty 24/7. Shari doesn't bother to log in half the time because she's still serving out her community service for charges stemming from a 2010 altercation at a kids' soccer game. Jojo is just barely past the introduction phase of her Rosetta Stone program, and Annie and Natalie don't have the stomach for tough decision making. I've reached out to a couple of other quasi-mods but all of them seem to be too busy "not caring."

So where does that leave me? Saddled with every petty little complaint here at SBR, that's where. I don't have the time, nor the inclination, to go through every incident report or grievance with a fine-toothed comb. I was actually pretty drunk when I reviewed LouisvilleKid's case and I don't remember much of the email. It all sounded plausible that he could have been touting, so I went ahead and cut him loose. He needed to be put out to pasture anyways, as his tenure here at SBR was a fairly long one, and his best posting days were clearly behind him.

As for the 5mike5 guy, I had a lot on my plate at the time I was summoned to opine on his case. I sped-read most of the email pertaining to 5mike5 because, at that particular moment, there was a marauding band of misfit squirrels hissing and chirping outside my window. There was some kind of fracas between these rogue squirrels and a stray cat that would frequent the neighborhood. I tried desperately to put the pieces together, but I'm no Blues Clues. The council of squirrels disbanded at one point and veered off in separate directions. Two of the squirrels raced up a tree and seemed to taunt the cat from the maple canopy.

I don't mean to get off the subject, but all of this appeals to me because I am in communication with a secret squirrel named "Nutterfingers." It sounds bizarre, but he visits me when I'm in deep states of meditation. He aids me in my quest to become the perfect handicapper. Imagine god, but with a bushier tail. That's Nutterfingers in a nutshell. This squirrel deity has yet to fail me when I receive his picks in a vision, an altered state. That's why I couldn't lend full concentration to the 5mike5 dilemma. It's also worth pointing out that I had about 5 dvd's I had to return to Redbox before 9 p.m. or else I would have incurred additional charges. At that point, 5mike5 was an afterthought.

In an effort to resolve the 5mike5 matter as soon as possible, I simply settled on banning him from any further forum activity on account of the fact that he was a big Nascar guy. I just felt that he was expendable. It's only race cars people. Who cares? If there was even a sliver of truth to the case against 5mike5, then I felt a ban was warranted. So I went ahead and shot Shari a text saying simply "he's done." If I made the wrong decision, then 5mike5 should be at least partially responsible for even leaving it up to me. If he had just kept his nose clean, nothing untoward would have ever surfaced. I was also drunk at the time and simply didn't have the patience.

Listen folks, I'm new at this whole moderation thing. Shari has bestowed me with a lot of authority in the past couple of weeks and it feels a bit like a new toy to me. I don't want to abuse this power, but at the same time, you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. I don't have any formal training at this so you can expect a few bumps along the road. I'm gonna ban guys now and then. There's really no point in crying about it. It's not the end of the line. If L-Kid or 5mike5 want to re-register, all they have to do is purchase a new computer and enroll from a different IP address. Computers are much more affordable nowadays so I don't think there's any excuse on their part to not make the effort.

Things are beginning to change and change is good. InTheDrink's days are numbered so you may all want to start lamenting his departure right now, while he's still here. With the help of Shari, I was able to intercept some offline texts of his and let's just say he's had some colorful remarks about me and the New Order. It's unfortunate for him, but he made his bed and now he shall lie in it. I'm working on the case against him and it's going well so far. I've even uncovered a few nuggets that would make his very own mother blush. But that's neither here nor there. Mark my words though, InTheDrink will be gone by football season.

JJGold is a different story. I've fielded many complaints on this guy(s) but he seems to have the support of the SBR staff for the time being. That too will change. As my power continues to grow, I will usurp all decision making to the point where the entire forum is under my thumb. I think a totalitarian system fits me quite well. I aim to cull the population in order to strengthen morale. I will promote certain members to loftier statuses than they currently claim. Be patient my friends. The dawn of the New Order has awakened, with me at the vanguard. SBR will never be the same.

He was a winning NCAAB capper, likely won in NCAA foots as well. Guy provided plays to the board for years at a consistent winning record and never asked for a dime. Kid had numerous opportunities when he was posting here to spin off and he could have gotten dozens of posters to sign up when he was on a roll. He didn't do it, had no intent to make money off his picks.
