    The Wolf of Wall Street
Finally watched this last night. I thought it was a great movie. Yes, maybe a little bit too long but just when they would start to lose my interest they would pull me back in. Got into an argument with my friend who claimed there was no plot or meaning to the movie. He said it was all just drugs and sex. I don't know I took a lot of meaning out of the movie. I thought most of the drugs use and sex scenes were more metaphorical than they played out on screen.

Anyone see this? What did you get out of it?

movie was okay, but way over the top

only real good parts IMO were Leo's speeches pumping up his employees

Thought it was a long and drawn-out average movie. Agree with your friend, didn't see much meaning to it but kind of checked out at some point as it continued to drag on.

it was the funniest film ive seen in ages, i reckon the character jonah hill played was based on our own JJ before he became a degenerate gambler.

                    Pretty awful movie.
About 80 minutes longer than it should have been.

Lots of hot bitches though, only thing worth mentioning other than Jonah Hill, who was pretty funny like always.
I thought DiCaprio's performance was pretty brutal and he tried too hard.

If you want to see the short version of this movie without in it, just watch Boiler Room, who they ripped this movie off from.

i liked both...i dont think wows is some epic classic but it was entertaining as fuk to me...and partly because it was supposedly very accurate with real life events...of course belfort is an ENORMOUS scumbag IRL

boiler room was loosely based on the same firm/same story but with more "artistic liberty"

leo's 2nd wife in the movie was fukkin SMOKING

boiler room had a SICK soundtrack....either youre slingin crack rock or you got a wicked jumpshot

This dude Mike Bennett would come to our dealership once a month for the weekend.........

This dude can party like no other......... Lol............

When Mike was in town it would be a 72 hour fukkin party!

While I would sell an average of ten cars in 3 days.....

I thought it was a great flick. Any movie with the audacity to run for 3 hours better be good or else it's just tortuous to the viewers. It seemed over-the-top at times, but never to the point of ruining it for me. I didn't read the book and it's supposedly based on truth, so I can't say for sure whether it was chock full of Hollywood embellishments or not. But it interesting to say the least. It was pretty much all the hedonism of a Led Zeppelin tour, but with Wall Street at the center of the circus. There were plenty of memorable scenes such as when Leo's character is hopped up on powerful Quaaludes and tries to get to his Ferrari.

Speaking of Leonardo DiCaprio, the guy is quickly ascending the ranks of the all time greatest actors. His acting range is unparalleled, and his performances are always captivating. Between Wolf of Wall Street and Django, the guy is on quite a roll.

One of the best movies to come out in the past 6 months or so. Been too much animated crap for kids lately. We need more flix like this to come out and do some blow and show some while making some coin.
