Last year he donated nearly 20k to this charity. Makes me feel so small for the fact that I only donate around 1k per annum.

He has not only my respect but also the admiration of surrounding businesses for putting the needs of others above the needs of himself and is a much revered member of the community.

I'm 40-- and they were around when I was a kid.

Hell, Car Dealerships in a lot of states are still governed by Blue Laws.

I agree to an extent-- small businesses can't give product away-- however, there are times---when a good deed goes an especially long way.

This was a bad business decision on the guy's part---- in today's world, where everything can be captured on a smart phone, posted to the internet and social media-- that $1 dollar cup of coffee can cause him a lot of problems.

He clearly isn't an effective manager/owner because if he were he wouldn't have allowed it to get this far. He should have simply taken the girl aside---asked her to pay for it right then, and then explained to her why they can't give their products away for nothing.

She's a kid-- 19--- teach her, educate her, don't throw a fuking tantrum over a $1 dollar cup of coffee that costs him a fraction of that.
