Anyone use UBER car service? Seemed like nothing special to me

I have heard all these great things about UBER but never has a need to use them. I was in vegas this weekend and a friend ended up going to the hospital in LA. So I flew home and grabbed a cab. The cab picked me up at Burbank airport.

They sent me a receipt.

Used them here in Philly for NYE. Don't think they are cheaper than cabs, just safer, don't have to pay driver, cars a lot nicer. Only have uber here, I think I read in Cali they have uberX where drivers can you their own cars? Here they are more like town cars, etc
