I have bet on sports for a hobby for 15 years. always did it online or in vegas in my 20 trips out there. I never understood why "bookies" was a sleezy business in terms of locals until I met a couple. they hand out credit freely to encourage one betting over their limit. If bookies operated as post up only it would be much more respectable.
