#3Philly, allow me to interject and perhaps shed some light on why there are no rebuttals. I am not a conspiracy theorist by nature and it has nothing to do with a naivete regarding the altruistic values of my government. People in power are capable of nefarious deeds in order to preserve their power, all justified in some perverse logic. Which harkens back to the old adage, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
That being said, it is a tall task at best to get a few people to conspire never mind dozens, hundreds or even thousands. And even more so in this culture whose insatiable thirst for sensational news stories which are prime fodder for a fortune that can be made by just one whistleblower. I know you have read this before and I am actually heartened that it doesn't dissuade you from researching controversial topics. Without curious creatures like you who do not buy the company line, some of these wrongs would not come to light as soon as they do. However, virtually all would reveal themselves eventually.
My advice, if you choose to consider it, is to cut down on the sheer volume of conspiracy threads if you want engaged and legitimate debate. It's the boy who cried wolf syndrome where posters are simply tuning out regardless of the veracity of your position. I no longer click on your threads because of that precise reason. And it's unfortunate because I think you have an interesting perspective but you may want to consider allowing opposing viewpoints to permeate your argument. The truth should be your ultimate quest, not a blind adherence to proving yourself right in each and every circumstance.
An open mind is always more interesting and far more wise than a closed door. FWIW.Comment -

If Philly is not going to cut down on his conspiracy threads....maybe he would be best served to post winners to gain some merit of legitimacy.Comment -

I welcome opposing arguments.
I want to see opposing arguments.
We can never get to the truth otherwise.
I do not feel the need, at all, to prove my position correct each and every time.
Only an absolute fukkin moron could think they are always right 100% of the time.
Here's the thing....
The official story reported by the 911 Commission IS A PROVEN LIE.
Therefore, it needs further investigation to get to the real truth.
I welcome all viewpoints, ESPECIALLY those that oppose mine.
You cannot get to the truth without all sides being spoken for.
I post these stories partly because I find them pretty fascinating and entertaining and partly because I want to hear everyone else's thoughts.
Do most people here think I'm a conspiracy theorist? Probably......but I'm not.
I just want the truth.
Whatever it may be no matter how dark.
I want the truth.Comment -

#7Well that's refreshing to know. Please link me, if you're able, to one or two threads where you conceded your position was in error.Comment -

I haven't conceded my position yet, in part, because no one has been able to show my position to be in error as of yet.
When they do, you can be sure I'll concede.
Keep in mind......I DON'T WANT TO BE RIGHT.
Do you think it's comforting to walk around thinking your own government has plotted against it's own citizens?
Or somehow had a hand in the events that took place that dreadful day?
Do you think I get some perverse enjoyment out of thinking this?
Dead wrong.
I wish to God for the best for my country in all aspects.Comment -

#10Philly I think a few things have gotten intertwined over the past decade + since the attack on Sept 11th. While I'm pretty certain there was no US led conspiracy to do it or simply let it happen...the event HAS been uses to justify numerous positions regarding the Defense industry, foreign policy moves and of course, govt overreach such as the Patriot Act. So basically the govt didn't want it to occur but once it did, they piggy backed it into devious acts.Comment -

I have seen no arguments that can contradict a cover-up.
There are so many witnesses to an event, for example, like Roswell and Kecksburg incidents that it would be pretty absurd at this point to think the events didn't happen.Comment -

I guess this is why I get frustrated with the people who back the official story.
Here, in this thread, we have a video, in which Richard Clarke, the former National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism for the United States saying that, in fact, it was known that the terrorists were already here on American soil,, and that it was kept from the people who could have prevented the attacks.
That IS A CRIME.
Furthermore, Clarke, in the video, is on the record as saying that both Tenet and Black...."Got away with it".
Now, if you don't think that in itself is not an admission, by a former official who was involved in the administration at the time, that certain people let events unfolded that eventually resulted in 911, then I guess there is no point in continuing this discussion any further.Comment -

Nobody knows the exact breakdown of what happened that day at every second....just best guesses but to say that because we cannot account for what conversation three of the hijackers had in the boarding area - football vs jihad- before they went on the plane does not mean its a coverup and that the govt planned it.Comment -

#16Got news for ya pal...there are more of them here now as we speak as well. Thats not the issue. It's like saying a serial rapist is running free in New York...even if the picture of the guy is posted for everyone to see and be on the lookout yet he breaks in an apartment and does it again...is that a cover up?
