There isn't a city on earth better than Chicago. I say that without visiting the vast majority of cities in the world. However, based on all the places I've visited and lived, there isn't a better place to live, IMO. Seattle area is a very close 2nd.

there are over 75 Chicago "Neighborhoods", such as Lincoln Park.

80% of the violent crime occurs in 6-7 of those hoods. Its a big place, you'd be very safe in Lincoln Park. Unless you are scared of Hipsters and Vegans.

The downfall of this great city is our political leaders inept ability to stop us going broke. If you move here, don't buy and be prepared to get the shit taxed out of you if you have decent job. I'm out the first chance I get. Unloaded one property this year, just have my place in burbs, but make no mistake. City is crumbling quickly. Be Detroit in 10-15 years.
