Can't blame the guy. Gotta watch out for #1 and UL can't match $$$ with Texas. I hope him nothing but the worst.

He took a team that went back to back 1-6 in conference to what they are today. You should be fluffing his rooster and cutting lines for him instead of bashing him. The program would be still in the basement with Connecticut and Kansas without him.

kid coaching is a cut-throat world. Take the best job when the iron is hot. Can't fault charlie here. No loyalty in coaching these days.

He'll fail if it makes you feel any better brother. Louisville will be alright now that they made it to the ACC.

Really any different then a free agent player leaving the team he's been with forever to a new team? Didn't harden turn down okc for a similar amount? When they could've seriously contended? Just life. It's not just the money its the Texas name he wants to be associated with when its all done.

Don't think you could fault anyone for taking the Texas job, last month people were convinced Saban was bout to leave Bama for it.

Understandable Louisville kid is frustrated. Just like whatever school louisville grabs their next coach from the fans of that program will be frustrated. It's just the cycle of big time coaching. In many respects Louisville fans should be happy they are so high on the food chain in major college sports.

Take it for granted being an ND football fan and a Duke basketball fan that it's highly doubtful a coach of either will ever leave for somewhere besides the pros

Probably a safe assumption TTO.
Also state income tax in KY at the high end is 6% and Texas has no state income tax. That alone is 300k per year on 5 million.

TTO strikes me as a pretty young guy, notre dame has 3 bowl wins in 20 years. Two of those against Hawaii and Rutgers. It's not like he jumped on the bandwagon while rooting for Johnny lattner, Paul Hornug, George Gipp or Joe Montana. Notre dame in TTO's life has pretty much sucked

One of my moms biggest clients growing up was Notre Dame. Went to multiple football games every year.
One of my buddies growing up had a brother who passed away due to a brain tumor. Coach K put on camps, helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars, and has given time and money to the foundation... So I've rooted for him/duke from a young age.
Soo ya...

I was pretty young when I saw Drew Brees start at QB against Notre Dame.. So ya, they haven't exactly been a powerhouse. The Brady Quinn years are the pinnacle of ND football for me.
Nice to see you around more James D, one of the few good guys still around here.

Cuse,
I met a dancer in NY back in the early 1990's, Broadway not stripper, who told me she was a Dallas cowboys fan. This was the aikman/emmit/Irvin years so they were champs. I called her on it by saying something smart like "let me guess your favorite hockey team is the penguins right"? Implying she only rooted for the winners. Pens had super Mario then and were unstoppable. This chick went on to name virtually every Dallas cowboy starter for the last ten years proving my theory was about as strong as the Alabama defense yesterday. From that day when the hot dancer B**** slapped me and my theory I have always been careful to question the reason a fan is loyal to a team. That chick really put it to me .
