I recently read that in Louisville, KY santas were making upwards of $30-40k during the holiday. I thought that sounded insane, but this was an online newspaper of some sort. None the less, it was a credible source, so I chose to believe it.

Outrageous, I know. My sister was the one who showed it to me. I'm gonna hit her up tomorrow and get a link. It was a little longer than 1 month. Like 6-7 weeks, but still. I don't Billy Bob Thornton was pulling that kind of loot.

If you set yourself up as a santa, paying for space and a helper/photographer, you could make that selling 1000-1500 photos over the month.

Shit is probably harder than you think. I know I couldn't stay so damn positive and hohoho all day around a bunch of screaming kids for hours.

If a Santa works 40 days during the holiday season, he can ring in the New Year with $8,000 to $10,000 in total wages. The big money is reportedly in private and corporate events, that’s where Santa’s wishes come true. Of course there are some expenses, namely, the red suit, boots and belt which can put Santa out $500 to $1000 bucks. However, earning $10,000 in a little more than month is good money, especially for retirees.

This isn't the exact article I was referring to, but still a little insight. The one I mentioned had to be basing that large sum off of what's bolded above. Also, this article states that they make anywhere from $100-200 per hour depending on experience.

That would be the hardest part, dealing with snot nosed kids and worse, their parents.
