If OP is worried about brightness in a room for the plasma, look at the Samsung PNXXF8500 series. Pricey for sure, but very bright. Some say as bright as an LED can be, and fine for well lit rooms. Samsung looks like they're going to stay in the market. Plenty of people love plasmas, and with Panasonic dropping out, why not stick around?

If they were good they'd be well known. Seiki is a budget brand.

Anyone know where I can get one without having to get their at 3 am and wait in line? Gotta think theirs places that will have all day deals so I can go during the day.
Why not buy some books instead?
