#4the ceilings are way too low in the golden nugget. makes you feel trapped when it's crowded. it's only a stones throw to the good casinos from there, so why the fascination with downtown?Comment -

#8Hi jj they gave me a big raise to stay in tulsa. So u ever come this way ill freeroll you a hundred at river spirit, osage, or hard rock. My manager just won 400 at river spirit this week. They have sports bars but do not take wagers. So that of course has to be done offshore. Or a local. But i know of none. Sinceim bankrolled offshore nowComment -

#11Fremont is basically a shithole.
Only decent book to watch a game is the Plaza now from what I have heard they re-did a few things in there and it's pretty nice.
Nugget will take big wagers, but the sportsbook itself is horrid to watch games.Comment -

Plenty of cheap and affordable places to stay at on the strip this time of year for the same price.
Fremont is horrible now.
If you're looking for cheap hotel action on the strip look up Imperial Palace, Flamingo, Excalibur, Harrah's, Hooters. Shitty hotels but at least you're where the action is.
Go to TripRes.com for the best offers.Comment -

#17Fremont is finally coming around, now that the area around it is the new place to be for young locals. I still wouldn't watch a game at any of the books compared to strip or South Point/Silverton/M.Comment -

Ehhh I wouldn't say it's coming around.
You really think so?
Still scummy down there and loaded with bums and crack whores.
The D has done a good job but other than that I don't see it improving until some of the old casinos there sell to new companies and they do some remodeling.
But def lots of young locals down there to get laid.
But for gambling/sports, it's pretty crappy.Comment -

Tony Hseih, the guy behind Zappos.com has bought up a ton of buildings around there, and now the place to be is the bar scene downtown. This alone brings money to the area, and they've been able to inject that into Fremont. Golden Nugget is back to being a 4-star resort if you can believe that. The D is a major step up over Fitzgeralds. The Golden Gate is packed every night thanks to the dancing dealers. They turned the Gold Spike into Tony's personal playground. He gutted it, put a big bar inside, and a ton of games inside and outside for grown-ups to play. Pretty fun.
It's still not impressive by any means, but it's improving fast. Right now you just have to know where to go. In a few years, you won't even have to know that.Comment -

#24M and the LVH are higher than a lot of other places. For MLB, 25K is routine at The M during the regular season.
almost everything is owned by Cantor, willhill, Boyd, so it's really a question of whether they need to balance a book.Comment -
