Family Dog Died.. Held him in my arms
Fking sucks... He was not 'my" dog, but my in'laws dog which got me to really love animals (Fam from E. Euro country where domesticated dogs were not exactly tolerated)

"Rolo" passed at 16 years old, and lived a great live. He had a tumour in his snout, couldn't breath well, couldn't sleep. Loved his snow in Canada and sniffing other dogs butts, we called him "the fugitive" cuz he always tried to escape around the neighbourhood.

    He was a Cocker Spanial/Bijon...

He was a good dog... I held him during the injection - His pain is over now... He is in doggy heaven...

Sorry for you loss biz, 16 years is pretty good in dog years. Been through that myself, always tough to say good bye to a beloved pet.

        I'm really sorry man.

Rolo sounded like an awesome dog.

Rolo is in a better place now and you'll see him again.

Looks a little like my dog. My dog also tries to escape every chance she can. You going to have a doggie funeral or memorial service?

            Rest in peace little Rolo

Had similar experiences with my pets...there are truly the only honest and unconditionally loving friends we have on this Earth.

adorable dog lil Rolo was. Nothing wrong with grieving over a pet. They are one of the family ya know.

Its crazy how pets are only on this earth with us for such a small amount of time

yet they spend more then half of their time alive desperately waiting to see you or for you to come home.

              Especially dogs.

Sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved dog is losing a family member and it does totally suck.

This is why SBR can be a great place in spite of all the shit we throw at each other at times... Thanks everyone. It Really means a lot. Hard to get the memory out of my mind, but ya, they love us unconditionally, wait for us to come home, and just want us to love them like they do us. It was his time though, it's hard being an animal lover because of the endings, but really in life Pets are just so +++EV.

The hardest part about losing a dog is losing the amazing personality that dogs develop. My dog is only 5 and in perfect health, but I often think about losing her someday and it already starts to hurt.

I do not care how tuff you are it is very tough to put a dog down. My dad was 6 foot 5 300 lbs built like a rock and was really tough. He was very sad when his mom died but she was very old at 91 and we knew it was coming but when he had to take our dog to the vet to have her put down my mom said in 50 years that was the first time I had seen him cry.I put my greyhound down this year and that was one of the hardest things I have ever done I shed a tear as well.
