STARTING DATE: February 16, 2009
TODAY'S DATE: April 1, 2009
GOAL: 100 Pounds in 365 Days
DAYS ON DIET: 44
DAYS LEFT TO GO: 321
POUNDS LOST: 34.8
POUNDS LEFT TO GO: 65.2
10 more pounds!
The real test comes this month... girlfriend visiting for a week, and then younger brother visiting for a week. I doubt they will want to eat as boring as I do, so I'll have to take them to other places. Need to be strong and make good choices wherever I end up going!
Thanks to those of you that have been supportive

Believe it or not, I'm not exercising at all. Plan on starting in a few months, but for now its all dietary.
Funny what a little calorie counting can do! You can eat anything you want in moderation as long as you hit your number or below it every day.
I always leave 130 calories aside, each night I drink a glass of V8 (50 calories) and a glass of V8 Fusion (80 calories). This provides me with more than 100% of the suggested daily servings of fruits and vegtables.
With lunch I take a multivitamin and a green tea extract.
Healthy healthy healthy

#119Dave,
Eat more raw foods and drop the Fusion at night. That has a ton of sugar in it. Also, do you lift and do cardio?
I've put on good weight and lost weight by adjusting my diet and exercise.
Let me know if you have any questions but 80% of it is diet. Cut out all drinking as well.

I drink the Fusion Light, which has a lot less sugar... I know its not as good as fruit (nowhere close obviously), but I still feel like its better than nothing. I should eat more fruits (and will eventually), but I'm keeping things very very simple right now just so I can stick to it.
I haven't been drinking at all, miss beer bad though. Was planning on stocking the fridge with it, but now I have none
.
Don't lift or do cardio yet, that is Phase 2. Phase 1 is eating in a healthy calorie bracket and losing weight. I'll get started on Phase 2 when Phase 1 becomes second nature

#122Dave,
I didn't read the whole thread, but I'll add my 2 cents. I weighed 275 in 2004 somewhere around june, and I did manage to get to 209 around Feb of 2005. Unfortunately I now back to 245. It can be done, keep the faith brother.

245 is still better than 275! I've lost/put it back on numerous times, but I'm hoping this time it gets lost for good.Comment -

Definitely a slow two weeks, only losing three pounds. Frustrating, but all things considered, it could have been a lot worse. With the girlfriend in town for a week and Easter Sunday, I definitely would have used these as excuses to "take a week off" in the past... so just staying the course is a minor accomplishment.
Almost 38 pounds in two months! Just need to average 6-7 pounds a month from here on out... not easy, but possible.
Oh and PS: To those of you who think I'm lying about this, here's a picture from a video from when I first started here, and another from a video last week:

You can see it a little, can't you?

#128This is not entirely true. If you have a healthy lifestyle in your eating choices and consume less calories then you burn, you will NOT gain weight, even if you don't lift a finger.Originally posted by BatemanPatricklYou can see it but unless you are lifting and doing cardio, the change will not last.
That said, I will be introducing some cardio in the coming months

#134VegasDave - your progress is really good bro, very impressive. Keep at your goal and I'm sure you'll accomplish it. If/when you find yourself plateauing, start adding some Cardio to your plan , even if you just start off with a 5-10 minute jog a few times a week. It will increase your metabolism - allowing you to burn calories faster when you do eat, and it will also burn calories that you have in your body at the time. Keep us up to date.Comment -

#135Being born without the ability to sense being "full" and being able to eat indefinitely certainly isn't "lucky" to me, haha. Being very overweight certainly isn't healthy.Originally posted by Flyers09your lucky man..weight-gain has always been my problem..it sucks....
Wish we could trade appetites, we'd both hit our goals a hell of a lot faster

At first I'm just going to get a little active with some pushups and bike/jogging. But down the line I will likely want to tone with some weightlifting, and I'll definitely look for some input/regiments from my fellow SBR'ers
