    saw my friends savings balance
    I saw my friends bank recepit that he left in his bathroom last night and he had a balance of $74,000. Guy is 28 like me, were both software engineers, both have same spending habits...only difference is I gamble and he doesnt.
    As of this morning this is what my bank account looks like. Fukking depressing.

                          He may have got a windfall from a dead relative. Dont assume its because he doesnt gamble.

                                  There's a lot of conservative investments that pay much better than a traditional savings account. Inflation is eating away at his stack.

                                          Lots of people keep 74k in a savings account. Just the ones that are smart and have 74k in a savings account have 5x that money invested elsewhere hopefully beating inflation.

                                          If the guy has 85k to his name, certifiable idiot, if he has 250k, well then that's more than 90% of the posters here so....
