Was reading the U.S. got a hold of the Silk Road servers where they could see in real time ISPs, did anyone else see that? If so, doesn't locating any DarkWeb server put everything/person on TOR at risk?

I don't know, but logic says it is unlikely the operator of any site would have enough information to take TOR down.

Anyone playing at a bitcoin book will get getting an I.R.S. audit. That's more than just a stone cold fact considering the Feds are on the case

What is the silk road?
The Silk Road is/was an underground marketplace where you could buy all sorts of legal/illegal goods and services.
Why was it targeted?
It was targeted by the feds because, well, the feds don't like people who facilitate the trade of cocaine, heroin, guns, hired assassins, etc.. (just a small sample of what they dealt in).
Why is everyone talking about this?
It's a pretty damn cool story. I highly recommend reading more about it. It's definitely one of those "Truth is crazier than fiction" stories.
WTF does it have to do with bitcoin?
Bitcoin is the only currency they accepted. The Silk Road is actually what put bitcoin on the map.
My personal opinion:
This is good for bitcoin. This helps us move on from the "Bitcoin is only good for drug dealers and money launderers" mentality and towards further legitimacy.
Thank you for your reply. Most courteous of you.
If what you're saying is true, then it's more than a little disturbing.
An underground place where you could buy illegal drugs and hire hitmen?
Yeah, that's a little too fukked up.

Is someone else using this account to make Dan look bad?
That's just a silly statement. Thats the stone cold fact.

It's an anonymous currency. Thats the whole point.
How on earth are the feds going to chase down anyone no matter what records they have??
And as if having access to one website's records is even the slightest issue for the bitcoin system. If it was that vulnerable it would have been shut down long ago.
This is serious business and much more on the up n up than current online casinos.
Bitcoin will put all other online casinos out of business if the public can avoid being brainwashed by the US govt and people like you.
Bitcoin based casinos are much much better for players because every single transaction is in public so it is possible to see exactly how much the casino is taking. ie: They can't cheat players with rigged RNGs or anything else because if they take too much from turnover it can be clearly seen.

You are entittled to your opinion sir however, I can only share my experiences with Bitcoin. If people wish to ignore my warnings then they can't blame me for giving them a heads up. Hell, Common sense tells a person that it's not as annonymous as you.
Authorities in Britain, Sweden, and the United States have arrested eight more people following last week's closure of Silk Road, a notorious black market website which helped dealers to sell drugs under the cloak of anonymity, officials and media said Tuesday.
UK authorities also announce arrest of Silk Road sellers in Devon, Manchester.

Um yes you can. Just find a retailer that takes btc (a quick google search should reveal all).
Don't know who would have told you otherwise...

Scare tactics? Mr.Walker is more than welcome to debunk my claims in this thread via that PM that was sent to him not to long ago. However, since he hasn't then I feel very comfortable standing by my statement.
BTW, 10% of about oh IDK, 10-20 million equals how much?

I hate to intrude... but I'm with Optional. The main point of Bitcoin is that its almost completely anonymous. This talk of audits and fed investigations is nonsense. There are no names, no accounts, no personal information.. nothing but IP addresses and Bitcoin receiving addresses. Do you have any idea the resources it takes just to trace down one person who plays at a casino, let alone tens or hundreds of thousands? IMO, I wouldn't say that dan is employing "Scare tactics". "Scare Tactics" infers that someone has a firm grasp of the subject and is purposely misleading people to achieve a goal. I think this is more a case of someone who is either uninformed or misinformed, and is spreading this misinformation under the false belief that he is doing a service to readers of this thread.
I may be completely wrong about Dans motives, but if I am, I would love if he would take the time to engage in an intelligent and rational discussion of the matter in order to clarify the situation for the readers of this thread.

I have worked for many other forums throughout this industry as the old schooler's do know. So with that being said I do have a rather keen knowledge of the situation that surrounds my original comments. After seeing former SBR poster/moderator Illusion get pearl harbored with an IRS audit (which was uncool, btw ! ) it clearly tells me it could happen to anyone at anytime nowadays. Hell whats next turning in parents to child services for associating with undesirables/criminals, unreal.
BTW, Did you happen to notice that Mr.Walker didn't refute my claims which should tell everyone what they need to know.

No offense to you or Walker but I had heavy position in BTC over the last two years and did very well. Much better than any stock or investment. I could care less what your guys opinion is about BTC. I have a proven track record with this. Im not talking about using them to bet sports either. There is a lot of ignorance in this thread, BTC, is not just used for drug or gambling sites. This is one of the most ignorant threads I've ever read on here. BBD, I respect you but clearly you have no clue what you are talking about on this subject. Just stating facts Sir, not being disrespectful but most people in this thread, not all are clearly ignorant about BTC.

Sir,
We both know their are a lot of things bit coins can be used for (both bad and good) however, the last time I checked their were 57 indictments that were handed down and it was ALL over this BTC concept. Now I'm saying this with the utmost respect to you here when I tell you I see a hell of a lot more than that happening in the future.
Oh, The feds are already well are of litecoin as well so I sure wouldn't want to be using any of that 84 million of it thats floating out there.
BTW, I'd love to tell you a few horror stories surrounding BTC however, as we both know it's not exactly a safe thing to discuss in this type of setting.

Yes, you got me there in regards to SBR and the money factor however, using this type of service through a U.S. facing company like SBR equals trainwreck. Especially when Dick Durbin's offices knowing about it. Now call me crazy here but the last thing Mr.Walker and the rest of the industry is wanting is the U.S. government tunnel-vision targeting his/there companies and them finding out more than they bargained far and we ALL know that would be the ultimate "game over" now don't we !
Oh, I'll need need a few more shovels in order to dig all these graves in the desert. Needless to say "Houston, you have a problem"
