Thinking of backpacking in Australia, New Zealand and then to Thailand in October for 2 to 4 months. Maybe longer.

Gonna start off in the land of OZ. Anyone done this recently? Any advice would be appreciated.

My advice is to start with a smaller island first. You can't backpack in Australia very fast. It's huge.

might be an idea Pavy. Flights to New Zealand from Australia are about $110 bucks. I plan to fly to the Cook Islands also and you can only get there from New Zealand.

very beautiful yes. Its like March in Vancouver or Seattle weather wise but that is great for hiking. Going up to the Bay of Islands for some wicked hikes and snorkeling in a day or two. Might stick around in the city to watch football tomorrow.

I have a job waiting should I come back. Three in fact. I am a workaholic and that usually doesn't end up well health wise. I have to do this. I am still young and in good health. Ya probably should have done this years ago but I cant change the past.

I have what appears to be a permanent smile on my face that last few days. I love it. Everyday will be a new experience and adventure.

I will see if I can get you a line on whether I will get hooked into a cult or not JJ. I am guessing it will be something like .... NO -55,000 ... YES +50,000.
