I'm such a rotten American, I didn't realize today was the anniversary.
Anyway, I was in bed at the time....and got woken up by a phone call, telling me to turn on CNN. When I woke up, I had this prodigious rockhard bone. One of these perfect early-morning boners.
After turning on the TV, it quickly wilted away.

sitting in history class right next to a girl that got called to the principles office mid class. Later found out her dad had died in the towers. I was sweating bullets thinking this was just the beginning of the attacks. My dad worked next door to the buildings and i was praying he just got home in one piece. He had to buy a bike and ride a few hours home.Comment -

Was just waking up, and they were talking about the first tower being hit on the news. It wasn't 2 minutes, and the 2nd plane came flying around to the 2nd tower. I think it was the first time my wife actually paid attention to national news. Work had called me up, and said to not even bother coming in because they were shutting down for the day. I still have the same anger today, that I felt then, when I saw people dancing in the streets of middle eastern countries because of the attacks. It just makes my blood boil.Comment -

I was a tour guide at the Louisville Slugger museum. I was in the middle of a tour and another employee came up to me and told me a plane hit the world trade center. I finished the rest of the tour then had to tell the people what just happened.Comment -

i was driving around in my fedex truck at the time listening to howard stern first it was reported as a small plane and once the second plane hit he was flipping calling out osama saying that this was a terror attack. it was a picture perfect day very similar to today actually kind of eerie thinking about it now. very sad to think back to that day

At work as a Police Officer. I knew right then my job, 400 miles away, had changed forever. I remember going out a lower the flags on my own before the order came down and lowering flags anywhere I saw them to honor the people on the planes. This was before we got the reports of police and firemen deaths.
The good thing was we never had to worry about money to buy equipment, the feds couldn't give it away fast enough. The bad was , at least for a couple years, was we were waiting for the next attack. The feeling you get when they issue you a complete chemical attack suit makes you think.
And yes, it was a quiet beautiful clear sunny September morning where I was.Comment -

Freshman year in high school during lunch.....Had the earliest lunch possible I remember. Some jerkoff kept saying the WTC blew up or something and no one really believed him. Found out later on obviously it wasn't a joke.....
