I Never Understood This About the Jerry Springer Show.....

....just turned on the TV for the last half hour and happened to see the Jerry Springer show. I was shocked this show was still on the air after like 15 years now but whatever. But what I don't understand is how come all the guests NEVER get arrested for assault and battery?

Every guest or guests that come on with their problems end up fighting....I mean ALL OF THEM. If you go out on the street and do what these animals do you get arrested nine times out of ten.

Even if you have a legit reason to knock another person out you get arrested for assault and battery on the street.

Yet on this show they come out and begin pummeling each other withing 20 seconds of the segment. Why are they not arrested?

Okay today on that Steve Wilkos show (the guy used to be Jerry's body guard or some crap) it was two sisters and one guy married to one of the sisters. The guy forced the other sister to give him a BJ in the back seat of his car while his wife (sister #1) was in labor.

It turns out it was all TRUE.....they were all related and yes the younger sister did give her bro-in law a BJ in the backseat of his car. So yes...it is true!

The way the wife was just sobbing and hyperventilating and getting violent after she found out seemed all real to me. The bottom line is why don't the cops just shut it down and arrest people?

Again Howard Stern what they do is legal and for the most part everyone agrees to it.....whether it be smearing a girl's @ss with mayonaise and throwing bologna on it or just asking crude questions. Jerry Springer and that Steve Wilkos show it's full out crazy fighting every episode.

I'm sure the quests have to sign a waver saying something along the lines of he's not responsible for
anyone getting hurt and no one can bring charges against the other party. That's probably why they
go at it like they do, no reparations.

Have not read the responses in this thread so this might have already been said...

but here is my take.

I think that for the most part they are real people with real problems.

BUT

I think that they pump up the participants heads b4 the show .

Get them enraged and remind them as well that they are

on national TV and to make it a worthwhile show.

I have seen a couple that I thought were a bit sketchy though...

If you think about it... most people tend to act out when they are on television anyways... so seeing people

act like lunatics on live TV (especially when strong emotions are involved) is not hard to imagine.

I understand about the guests not suing each other, that's fine. But the general principle that two people who want to fight, on national television in front of the whole country, and the police know this is going on and don't step in to do anything about it even though I believe it's considered to be assault and battery.....yet on the street if you so much as shove someone else even lightly you'll end up in handcuffs.

Something is not right there.
