How is gambling in points any different than opening an account in euros and paying dollars to reload? Sure, SBR points are a bit less flexible and the conversion rate is crappy, but the principle is the same. I think I understand what you're trying to say (that it's pretty crazy to go that nuts with SBR points), and it certainly is unusual...but your argument sounds a lot like "he should be embarassed to have lost gambling". At the end of the day, it's no different than losing big at any other book for $$ and having to reload, and I'd venture to say a good chunk of this board has done just that at some point or another...congrats if you're not part of that group Gambling with points and buying them if needed isn't exactly -EV either...the 33% hit you take converting $$ to points is still less than inflation since the start of the year, so if points are bought to pay off debt that old the lender actually has it even worse.

Not blaming you or your lenders for the recent devaluation of points wulf. It wasn't exactly foreseeable (at least not the severity), and regardless it's certainly not borrowers' fault... just the hazard of keeping any appreciable amount of points on the site or loaned out.

Besides, devaluation isn't particularly relevant in your case anyways since most of your loans were very recent and paid almost on original timelines. Slick was affected a little, but you didn't slow pay him so all's right power your agreement.
