Iphone 5 vs Galaxy S4

just found out my contract expired with ATT and I am due for an upgrade. Was looking forward to getting an Iphone however I have now been hearing that the S4 is actually the better phone as with the Iphone everything has to be through Itunes and the only reason most people prefer an iphone is because it is easier to use. Considering the price will be the same which one should I go with?

If I had AT&T I'd get the S4 Active, it's waterproof and dustproof.

active over the regular? whats the difference besides the water and dustproof
