Vegas hotels free upgrade (20 dollars)

Has anyone used the 20 dollar sandwich trick at hotels in vegas? (CC, Drivers license, and 20 dollars inbetween). And then ask for any complimentary upgrades

My friend said it works all the time.
Any use this idea before?

Yes, although on busier weekends you might need to pay a little more(i.e. New Year's)

By: Mark I was lucky to get the gay guy at the front desk. Straight myself, I went to work and flirted. Complimented him in his new haircut. We laughed and had fun. I didn't even need to give a $20 and was upgraded to a suite. Score. I might even call him later!

I use this all the time, generally its tougher to get a good upgrade if you're staying longer than 3 days. Has worked everytime except once for me, used it at Bally's, Rio, Venetian, Caesars, Planet Hollywood.

I stayed at the EL Cortez once and slipped the 83 year old clerk 5 bucks and pack of Marlboro's and got the King suite.

Most places give the desk agents bonuses for getting a guest to spring for an upgrade. A $20 tip is a waste of money. Not going to get you a baller kind of room anyways.
