Why is the "neighborhood watchman" (allegedly) getting his ass beat to a bloody pulp by an unarmed teenager.....to the point where he was (allegedly) fearing for his life and needed to use deadly force?? Seems kind of dumb to have someone as weak as Zimmerman as your neighborhood watchman.....Unreal

Just seems like someone that is getting involved with strange people on foot at night as a neighborhood watchman should atleast be able to hold their own against a teenager in a physical struggle if it ever came to that......For being so weak as Zimmerman apparently was (getting beat to "death" by a teenager) he was pretty damn zealous and eager to get involved IMO.....

I just read the transcript.....I don't see anything about him getting out to grab a building number. I also see where he says that Trayvon is running and seems pissed off about how those "fukking assholes.... always get away".....This suggests that he may have went on to look for Trayvon out of the car, and not the other way around, no?

Zimmerman says that he got out to get a number after the call and then was approached by Martin but wasn't following him, just happened to be going in the same direction......But was also clearly agitated about Trayvon running away

Dr. Vincent Di Maio, a forensic pathologist and gunshot wound expert, testified that Martin's gunshot wound was consistent with Zimmerman's story that Martin was on top of him and leaning over him when he was shot.^[129][130] The gunshot evidence indicated that Martin's clothing was from two to four inches from his body when he was shot, Di Maio said, "If you lean over someone, you notice the clothing tends to fall away from the chest, if instead you're lying on your back and someone shoots you, the clothing is going to be against your chest."^[129] Di Maio said he had examined photographs and the autopsy and toxicology reports and concluded that the evidence was consistent with Zimmerman's statements to police.^[130] Di Maio testified the path of the bullet ran from Martin's left side through part of his heart and into a portion of the right lung. Di Maio stated, "The medical evidence...is consistent with his [Zimmerman's] statement." ^[130] Di Maio also testified that Zimmerman had at least six injuries from the struggle: two head lacerations, two wounds to his temples and wounds on his nose and forehead. Di Maio said those injuries were consistent with Zimmerman having his head banged into a sidewalk, and that such injuries can be dangerous. Di Maio stated it's possible to receive trauma without visible wounds, testifying that, "You can get severe trauma to the head without external injuries, actually." Di Maio said Zimmerman's nose may have been fractured, which was consistent with Zimmerman being punched in the nose.^[129][131]
The pathologist testified that Martin lived no more than three minutes after the shooting and probably was conscious for at least 10 to 15 seconds. Di Maio said that someone may be able to move their arms after receiving a similar gunshot.^[129][131]
Di Maio also testified that if clothes taken into evidence are wet and packaged in plastic bags, and not paper bags, it can ruin the samples since "bacteria multiplies and you get mold and it stinks to high heaven."^[129][131]
Dennis Root, a former police officer with training in firearms and self-defense and an use-of-force expert, testified the fight between Zimmerman and Martin went on for some 40 seconds and was marked by a high level of fear and anxiety. Root said "That's a very long time to be involved in any type of physical altercation.," Root further stated that "If you have not successfully completed the fight, if you have not won the fight in 30 seconds, change tactics, because the tactics you are using are not working."

This is going to be an interesting jury decision.

Zimmerman will be acquited of the Murder 2 rap. No doubt.

But, I could see it 50-50 on the manslaughter charge.

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

I've no problem with Stand Your Ground. I wouldn't want it in my state, much prefer a more restrictive Castle Doctrine-like law (FWIW I live in an even more liberal Castle state, NY). I just hope this isn't an indictment of Stand Your Ground. Either way it turns out the law in FL is the law and if the jury decides that Zim acted w/in the law he should be acquitted. Juror activism or nullification is not acceptable, if you don't like Stand Your Ground leave the state or vote for state politicians that will affect change. It's impossible for me to know all the facts through the media, only the people in the courtroom will know the facts.

how can anyone possibly find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt? Only if they fell asleep in the court room. Zimmerman is innocent. The state never proved he did anything wrong.

Just a typical example of how the DA was under pressure to make an arrest just for the sake of making one. Rush to judgement and a huge waste of tax payer money.
