    FBI releases list of most dangerous cities in US



    Figures by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) showed that violent crime rose in the United States by 1.2 percent last year.

    Flint in Michigan had the highest violent crime rate in the country in 2012 for the third year in a row, according to the FBI.

    Based on the FBI Uniform Crime Report, cities followed Flint are Detroit, Mich., Oakland, Calif., and St. Louis, Mo.

    Violent crime includes murder, nonnegligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault.

    Birmingham, St. Louis and Oakland were among the 10 worst cities in the country for both violent crime and property crime.

    Flint and Cleveland had among the highest burglary rates, while Oakland, Detroit and St. Louis had among the highest rates of vehicle theft.

    The most dangerous cities in the United States have bad economies for years even before the Great Recession.

    10. Cleveland, Ohio

                              I can't believe Vegas is not on the list. We seem to be at the top of every bad list and near the bottom of every good one. Whew, sounds like we dodged a bullet (pun intended) on this one!
